The Venezuelan national team will be represented by Magallanes. A team that finished the regular league in first place with 10 wins out of the 16 games they played. In the final after seven games, the Magallanes beat Anzoátegui to be able to represent their country in the Caribbean Series. This is the third time that the Magallanes play this tournament, they were in the first two editions, in the first one they were eliminated in the group stage and in 2014 they were first in the group stage, but lost in the semifinals against Puerto Rico. In the first game of the Caribbean Series in 2022 they lost 1-6 against the Colombian team.

The team that will represent Puerto Rico in this Caribbean Series, Criollos Caguas, finished in second place in the regular league, in the semifinals they defeated Cangrajeros 4-2 and in the final they defeated Indios de Mayagüez 4-1. In the first game of the Caribbean Series they were defeated by Panama, with a 3-2 score. This team reached the final last year in this tournament after finishing second in the group stage. In the final they lost to the Dominican Republic team by 4-1.

In 2013 is the only time that the team representing Puerto Rico and Venezuela have faced each other, it happened in 2013 where the Puerto Rican team won both duels, 1-3 in the first one and 1-4 in the following one. Last year they also faced each other in the group stage of the Caribbean Series in a duel where Puerto Rico won 3-0.

The match between Puerto Rico and Venezuela will be played at the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It was built in 1955 and has a capacity for 13,186 spectators.
