Plateau de Solaison

The Plateau de Solaison, perched at an altitude of 1,500 metres, tucked away between the Pointe d’Andey and Rochers de Leschaux mountain peaks, is the ideal place to forget the tumult of city life. Nature is king here and makes it a true mountain paradise in all seasons. This plateau has made the reputation of the small mountain village of Brison, which guarantees great breaths of fresh air in winter, on the cross-country skiing domain, as well as in summer with beautiful hikes crowned by the famous Pointe d'Andey. As for cycling enthusiasts, they will be delighted by the climb up the Col de Solaison pass, with its majestic landscapes. In winter, the Solaison cross-country skiing area boasts approximately 30 km of trails for all levels as well as 5 km of snowshoe walking itineraries. You can also try your hand at the laser biathlon and have fun on the toboggan run. Whatever the season, do not miss the beignets de pommes de terre (potato fritters), a local dish that you just have to taste.

Saint-Alban-Leysse

Saint-Alban-Leysse is proud to occupy first place, for the Savoie department, without interruption since 2020, in the category of towns with a “population of between 5,000 to 10,000”, in the “ranking of towns and villages where it feels good to live”. Here you will find the calm and tranquillity of a small town located at the gateway to the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Reserve, combined with the dynamism and energy of the Chambery area. Mountains, vineyards and forests make up the wonderful beautiful natural heritage. The town is an important industrial and commercial hub as well as an essential cog in the local economy, attracting many working people. Saint Alban-Leysse is also a thriving community in terms of its associations, its culture and the events it organises. Among more than 60 associations, the Union cycliste du Nivolet cycling club and its 69 members organise each year in September the “Nivolet route VTT marche” road cycling, mountain-biking and walking festival. On 19th June, the Fête du four de Razerel baking festival followed, on 25th June, by the Fête du Terroir local produce festival are also two other unmissable festive and popular events.
