The Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry and the Miami Heat share "mutual interests" of the point guard joining up with the Heat next season, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

In a discussion with Hannah Storm, Windhorst mentioned Kyle Lowry as a possible option for the Miami Heat, which now is in dire need of a true point guard after starter Mario Chalmers' ineffective performance in the NBA Finals.

Other players Windhorst mentions are Trevor Ariza, Marvin Williams, and Rodney Stuckey. All three of these players, along with Lowry, will be unrestricted costless agents this summer.

As mentioned before, Miami superstars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will have to take substantial pay cuts for the Heat to build a terrific supporting cast. The Heat may need to concentrate on other areas as well including its bench and center position to enhance its dreadful rebounding.

Lowry would certainly give the Heat a whole different look, as the team has not had a pure point guard since James came to town. However, the center position should be addressed first. Nevertheless, Lowry would be a huge acquisition to the team if it could get it done.

Lowry would after all be a more affordable option than Carmelo Anthony (the Knicks' forward is also rumored to be interested in joining forces with Miami), and he is coming off of the best season of his career. Lowry, who is 28-years-old, averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.4 assists this past season for the Raptors, and led them to their first playoff appearance since 2010. It remains to be seen if Lowry would choose less money to sign with Miami than he would get signing with another team with more cap space, or by resigning with Toronto.
