After losing Tyrone Lue to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Alvin Gentry to the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers have hired former New York Knicks coach, Mike Woodson as an assistant coach, reports Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

After coaching New York to a 37-45 record, the Knicks fired coach Woodson on April 22nd. Woodson has been an assistant coach for five different teams in the past, which includes the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, and New York Knicks. He started his assistant coaching career in 1996.

The Clippers have interest in adding Lawrence Frank and Sam Cassell to Doc Rivers’ staff as well. Frank was a former assistant under Rivers in Boston, while Cassell played for Rivers. Cassell is currently an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards. Though, Frank is available after being dismissed by Jason Kidd in Brooklyn.

It is unclear whether Mike Woodson would be a top assistant, but it does not seem that way. Lawrence Frank may be the one granted with the lead assistant coaching job if hired.
