Jannero Pargo scored a whopping 16 points in the 4th quarter to propel the Hornets over the Magic Monday night 99-97.

I was going to go back with Brian (Roberts) with five or six minutes left, but Jannero was playing so well,” coach Steve Clifford said.

Pargo definitely was playing well, shooting 6-10 in 12 minutes played and all of his points in the final quarter.

Just staying ready, staying alert those first three quarters,” Pargo said. “And my teammates do a great job of screening for me and giving me the ball. They’re very unselfish in that sense, looking for me, trying to get me open."

Rookies Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton both had decent outings for the Magic. Payton scoring 14 with 5 assists and 6 rebounds, and Gordon scoring 9 points, along with 6 rebounds.

Al Jefferson scored 20 points, and 8 rebounds but shot a subpar 8-20 from the field. He did although had the game-saving block on Payton that would have tied the score. Recently acquired SG Lance Stephenson scored 8 points on 4-9 shooting.

The Hornets will move on to play the Pistons in their next matchup and the Magic will play Flamengo going forward.
