The league worst Philadelphia 76ers came into the game with a 4-25 record with hopes of catching the league best Golden State Warriors at 24-5 off guard and pull off the biggest upset of the season. The Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr likes to call these type of games against weaker opponents "trap games" because the stronger team might come into the game unprepared, expecting an easy win, and then find themselves struggling to do anything right.

Philadelphia burst out to a quick 6-0 lead to start the game, giving an initial impression that they would give Golden State a challenge, but that ultimately was not the case. Golden State quickly pushed the gas pedal and played like the better team that they are to gain a 32-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Golden State never looked back and just kept piling up the points on the lowly Philadelphia team. The defensive intensity was also at its best, as Golden State limited Philadelphia to 34 first half points while scoring 61 themselves.

Philadelphia played like the inexperienced team they are, committing 27 turnovers in the game while only shooting 38.4 percent from the field. A high turnover number and low field goal percentage spell disaster that even the best of teams rarely overcome.

Golden State played the second half with just as much effort as the first, winning the game, 126-86, and improving to 25-5 on the season, maintaining the best record in the NBA.

Golden State had seven players score in double figures but was led by Marreese Speights' 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting and four blocks. Stephen Curry chipped in 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting and nine assists. Klay Thompson added 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting.

Henry Sims led the way for Philadelphia with 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting and seven rebounds. Robert Covington, Tony Wroten, and Malcolm Thomas added 10 points each.

Golden State next face a tough test against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Philadelphia will look to get on track against the Phoenix Suns on the same day.
