The Atlanta Hawks have announced today that guard Thabo Sefolosha will be out six to eight weeks due to a calf strain. He suffered the injury during Atlanta's win over the Portland Trail Blazers on January 30th.

The defensive ace has been averaging a little over five points and four rebounds for the number one seeded, 39-8 Hawks.

Sefolosha is one of Atlanta's best perimeter defenders. In his absence, Kent Bazemore is likely to see more play time, while John Jenkins also earns some minutes.

The Hawks are currently on an 18-game winning streak and after starting the season 7-6, they have won the last 32 out of 34 games.

Thabo Sefolosha should be back the last month of the season and should be ready for the playoffs.
