Timberwolves guard Mo Williams has been traded from Minnesota to the Charlotte Hornets, according to Shams Charnia of RealGM. The deal will also send Troy Daniels to Charlotte in exchange for Gary Neal and a second-round draft pick.

Williams is an 11-year NBA veteran who is most known for his 2008-09 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in which he was elected to the All-Star team with LeBron James. In 41 games this season, Williams has been averaging 12.2 points and 6.4 assists. He scored a career-high 52 points against the Indiana Pacers in January.

The Hornets have been looking to strengthen their chances of making the playoffs, and with Kemba Walker out for an extended period of time, Williams should be able to greatly help the team.

He's been a swingman over the last two years by spending time with the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers before signing with the Timberwolves this offseason.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are likely to buyout or trade Gary Neal, as they continue their rebuilding process by shedding salary.
