The Detroit Pistons are in the hunt for one of the last two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. They are currently sitting in 10th place, but they are just one game behind the Brooklyn Nets for that eighth and final seed, and just two and a half games behind the Miami Heat for seventh place. The Pistons welcome the New York Knicks to The Palace Of Auburn Hills in Detroit, and it couldn't come at a better time. The Knicks are on a eight-game losing streak, but Detroit is in no position to take any team lightly. As we all know on any given night, any team can come on top.

The New York Knicks are coming off a 115-94 loss to their division rivals, the Boston Celtics, in Boston. Five players scored in double-figures, as Andrea Bargnani led the team with 17 points. Lou Amundson, Jason Smith, and Langston Galloway all chipped in with 14 points apiece. The game was close until the Celtics went on a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter and left the Knicks in the dust.

With All-Star Forward Carmelo Anthony out for the remainder of the season, we're going to see a lot more of these types of games because the Knicks just do not have enough fire power to stay with teams for the full 48 minutes of a game.

The Pistons, meanwhile, are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, a game where they held a 14-point lead in the third quarter but let it slip.

The Detroit Pistons will have a new look than the last time these two teams met in January. Just before the trade deadline, the Pistons were involved in a three-team deal with them acquiring point guard Reggie Jackson from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pistons look like they are all in for a playoff run.
