The Atlanta Hawks have called up Austin Daye from the Erie BayHawks of the D-League for a 10-day contract, according to Yahoo Sports.

This move for the Hawks comes in the midst of a toe injury to forward Mike Scott. Scott will be out for a few weeks.

The addition of Daye will provide more depth at the forward position for Atlanta. The team traded rookie Adreian Payne to the Minnesota Timberwolves before the trade deadline and now have Pero Antic, Elton Brand, DeMarre Carroll, Paul Millsap, Thabo Sefolosha, and Mike Muscala at forwards.

Sefolosha is still being evaluated for his calf injury that sidelined him for six weeks. The youth of Daye will add on to the talent at that position.

He was a first-round draft pick of the Detroit Pistons in 2009 but has been a journeyman around the NBA, as he has played for the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, and played one season in Russia. In addition, he played for two D-League teams.
