The Brooklyn Nets have been surprising the Atlanta Hawks by winning Games 3 and 4 in Brooklyn. They have been led by the sharpshooting of Jarrett Jack and Alan Anderson off the bench; the Hawks were up by as much as 14 points in Game 5, and were finally able to fend off a Nets comeback to secure the win.

The Hawks got out to an early 21-8 start due to the three point efforts of Jeff Teague, DeMarre Carroll, and Kyle Korver early in the first quarter. Atlanta caught the shooting bug that Brooklyn was feeling in the last four games and could not miss. A Pero Antic three pointer tacked on to the big lead to make it a 30-16 game with 45 seconds left in the period. DeMarre Carroll knocked down a jumper right before the buzzer and the Hawks led the Nets 32-16 after one quarter.

The Nets clawed back into the game early in the second quarter, and then cut the deficit to 33-24 on an Alan Anderson three ball. Anderson totaled 23 points and seven rebounds for the game. Brooklyn created an 11-0 run that made the score 33-27; Jeff Teague was soon able to get Atlanta back out to a double digit lead with a three pointer to make it a 40-30 game. Anderson continued to grind it out for Brooklyn, and a four point play by him cut the deficit to 49-42 with 1:07 left until halftime. DeMarre Carroll knocked down a three pointer for the Hawks before the half to put Atlanta up 53-44. Carroll had another exceptional game for the Hawks, as he led all scorers with 24 points and added seven rebounds.

Brook Lopez helped bite into the deficit, as he executed on an and one play to make it a 57-51 score three minutes into the third quarter. Two three balls by Kyle Korver pushed the lead back up to double digits at 70-58 with 5:30 left for the Hawks in the period. Korver knocked down another three for Atlanta and made the score 77-64 with 2:30 left in the third. The Hawks had complete momentum as they led 82-70 after three quarters.

The Nets quickly got the score into single digits early in the fourth quarter on a Joe Johnson three pointer to make the it a 82-74 game. Bojan Bogdanovic knocked down a three to help Brooklyn go on a 11-2 run as the score was then 82-77. Jarrett Jack took on the leadership role for the Nets in the fourth quarter as five points by him in two and a half minutes made the score 87-85. Kyle Korver stopped the bleeding for the Hawks as he extended the lead to 90-85. A Jarrett Jack layup soon made the deficit 90-89 with 4:39 left. Jeff Teague knocked down a three ball for Atlanta to get some breathing room with a 93-89 lead. Joe Johnson hit a three of his own to make it a 97-95 game. Al Horford helped the Hawks close the game out on a clutch jumper to make the lead 99-95 with 1:18 left. The Hawks were able to knock down their free throws coming down the stretch and earned the hard fought 107-97 win.

The Hawks are now up 3-2 and will have the chance to eliminate the Nets in Brooklyn in Game 6 on May 1st. Brooklyn has only won two games at home - Atlanta this season.
