Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson aren't going anywhere as they have both accepted lucrative five-year deals that'll pay each of them a total of  $110 million and $80 million respectively.

Kevin Love broke the news via a first person essay in The Players Tribune noting that he has unfinished business and it's time to get to work. The entire essay can be seen below.

"I'm going back to Cleveland," wrote Love.

"After Game 1 of the NBA Finals, that’s when it really struck me. Sitting on the sidelines, I never wanted to play in a game more than that one. I had dreamed of playing in the NBA Finals and I just wanted to help my guys win. I couldn’t have been prouder of them as they poured their blood, sweat and tears onto the court.

"Yeah, of course I’ve heard the free agency rumors. But at the end of the day, and after meeting with my teammates (it turns out pools are great meeting places) and with the front office, it was clear Cleveland was the place for me. We’re all on the same page and we’re all in. We have unfinished business and now it’s time to get back to work."

Many executives around the league expected Love to sign a one-year deal that would allow him to look for an even bigger payday with the salary cap leaping in the next couple years.

Instead with Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson opting to sign five-year deals they have solidified the core of the Cleveland Cavaliers to go along with Kyrie Irving and soon to be expected LeBron James.

Tristan Thompson made the most of his opportunity after Kevin Love was knocked out of the playoffs due to injury and was a force on the boards and the Cavs 'energy' player. It seems a little far-fetched to think a seemlingly one-dimensional player such as Thompson would be signed to such a max contract but that's the going rate for free agents this summer with the cap increasing the next two seasons.

While Thompson excelled in the playoffs Cleveland sorely missed Kevin Love's on the offensive end and ability to shoulder some of the load off of LeBron James' shoulders.

Throughout the season there's been rumors and rumbles how Kevin Love doesn't 'fit in' with LeBron James and the rest of the roster but that obviously was overblown with Love committing to a long-term max deal to stay in Cleveland.

There's still the matter of re-signing J.R Smith and Iman Shumpert if they choose to do but the Cavs have to be relieved and pleased to lock up Thompson and Love.

One thing's certain, King James has to be happy with the Cavaliers off-season thus far and the lucrative contract that is waiting for him.
