While many high profile free agents are still unsigned, day 1 of NBA free agency has not been dealt with conservative spending by NBA owners. After the last major signing of the night, Draymond Green re-signing, there has been more than $1.22 billion in agreed to deals in the first 24 hours of free agency, according to ESPN Business Reporter Darren Rovell.

We are stilling waiting on LeBron James, who is expected to re-sign with Cleveland to construct a deal. Other highly coveted free agents still available include LaMarcus Aldridge, Dwayne Wade, Monta Ellis, Greg Monroe, DeAndre Jordan and many more. July 2nd may not accumulate as many deals as the 1st, but it can be just as impactful for teams in need.

There has been a common trend of players ‘staying home’ with their respective teams, which leaves many teams pushing hard for the remainder of players available. As expected, the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks are pushing hard to sign one of the impact players that are still free agents.

So far, here is what has happened on July 1st of free agency:

Kevin Love agreed to terms to stay with Cleveland for five years, $110 million.

While Love continually stated that he would stay in Cleveland since the finals, many believed he would still jump ship. Love proved us wrong, and re-signed long term, ensuring he is there to win and play alongside LeBron.

Cleveland has also re-signed Iman Shumpert for four years, $40 million.

While nothing is final, Tristan Thompson is finalizing a deal that could be worth $80 million with Cleveland. Just more security for LeBron over these past 24 hours.

Kawhi Leonard agreed to terms to stay with San Antonio for five years, $90 million.

DeMarre Carroll has agreed to leave Atlanta and sign in Toronto for four years, $60 million.

Paul Pierce in a shocking move has left Washington to join the Clippers in LA, teaming up with Coach Rivers once again for three years, worth nearly $10 million.

Brandon Knight agreed to terms to stay in Phoenix for five years, $70 million.

Tyson Chandler agreed to terms with the Phoenix Suns, for four years, $52 million.

  • The re-signing of Knight along with the pick up of Chandler makes Phoenix an emerging suitor for LaMarcus Aldridge

Draymond Green agreed to terms to stay with Golden State for five years, $85 million.

Danny Green agreed to terms to stay in San Antonio for four years, $45 million.

Tiago Splitter was traded from San Antonio to Atlanta in order to clear $8.5 million off of the Spurs book.

After the Green re-signing, many wonder if the Spurs were out of the Aldridge race. Shortly after, they made the move to ship off Splitter for virtually nothing in order to clear space. The Spurs must be confident in signing Aldridge after a bold move.

Anthony Davis is staying in New Orleans, signing a five-year, $145 million extension. This news broke shortly after the clock hit midnight on the east coast, and the signing period began.

The Pelicans continued dealing on signing day, locking up Omer Asik to a five-year deal, worth $45 million; and Alex Ajinca on a four-year deal, worth $20.2 million.

The Blazers are in agreement on a five-year extension that will top out at $120 million for Damian Lillard to stay in Portland.

Goran Dragic quickly accepted terms with Miami for five years, $90 million.

This move was important for Miami; Miami now has Dragic, Bosh, Deng, Whiteside and new draftee Justice Winslow. Pat Riley and co. continues to work out a deal to keep Dwayne in Wade County.

Paul Millsap decided to stay in Atlanta, agreeing to a three-year deal, worth $59 million.

The Boston Celtics had a busy day, signing three free agents.

Amir Johnson has agreed to two years, $24 million.

Jonas Jerebko has agreed to two years, $10 million.

Lastly, Jae Crowder agreed to stay in Boston for five years, $35 million.

Kyle Singler agreed to terms to stay in Oklahoma City for five years, $25 million.

Khris Middleton agreed to stay in Milwaukee for five years, $70 million.

Brooke Lopez and Thaddeus Young both agreed to re-sign in Brooklyn. Lopez inked in three years, $60 million with the Nets, while Young agreed to a four-year, $50 million deal.

Mike Dunleavy, Jr. has re-signed with Chicago for three years, $14.4 million, despite effort from LeBron James pursuit of bringing him to the Cavs.

Brandon Wright has agreed to join the Memphis Grizzlies for three years, $18 million.

Al-Farouq Aminu has agreed to join Portland for four years, $30 million.

While this list is long, it is not over. Many deals can be struck within the next day or two while many free agents are still on the board. For anyone interested in the NBA, today was treat, and more is to come.
