According to sources at ESPN, the Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly gauging interest in their center Enes Kanter, as they continue their serious summer shake-up.

If they do shop the 24-year-old, they will apparently look to fill their cap space by signing Al Horford, who is heading for free agency following nine years with the Atlanta Hawks.

The versatile 30-year-old, who can play as a power forward or as a center, had previously been linked with the likes of the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Miami Heat.

Horford could however, be enticed by a move to OKC, having played under their coach, Billy Donovan, during his time at Florida University.

The Thunder meanwhile have enjoyed a busy offseason so far, trading their defensive wall Serge Ibaka to the Orlando Magic on draft night, in exchange for Victor OladipoErsan Ilyasova and the draft rights to Domantas Sabonis.

Oklahoma City will also be doing all they can this summer to hold on to former MVP Kevin Durant, as he heads for the first free agency of his NBA career.

What Kanter brings to the team

Last season, Kanter was a serious threat off the bench for Oklahoma City, averaging 12.7 points per game from just 21 minutes of basketball. The Swiss-born Turk also boasted an impressive shot conversion, scoring nearly 60 percent of his attempted efforts, whilst converting nearly 80 percent of his free throws.

Whilst the 24-year-old may not offer as much of a defensive presence as a  first-choice center Steven Adams, Kanter brings a lot to OKC's offense, offering another option to Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

If the Thunder are to lose the latter, Kanter's offense could become even more invaluable, especially with talk that the third pick of 2011's draft could flourish in the vacant power forward spot.

It's likely that Oklahoma would not be short on suitors for the center if they are calling for offers for the former Utah Jazz man.

In Al Horford, the Thunder would have an experienced, nine-year NBA veteran on their books who could steady the ship following a mixed season.

OKC reached the Western Conference Finals, but they gave up a 3-1 series lead to the Golden State Warriors. Meanwhile, during the regular season, the Thunder blew several opportunities to beat the NBA's top sides, showing a lack of composure in the final quarter of games.

At the same time, the Hawks were one of the most defensively sound franchises in the NBA, averaging the best Eastern Conference defensive rating per Basketball Reference. Horford's experience in a team with a stellar backcourt presence could be vital if he joins OKC.

The 30-year-old's presence as a four-time NBA All-Star could be a big factor in Durant's choice to re-sign with the Thunder next season. The small forward will reportedly have meetings with several top franchises across both conferences, and Oklahoma seem to be keen to show their intent ahead of next season.

Horford enjoyed the first ever-present regular season of his career in the campaign just gone, averaging 15.2 points and 7.3 boards.
