LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The United States of America played their first Olympic match against Argentina at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday. Team USA dominated the competition and ran away with a 111-74 victory.

Kevin Durant, who recently signed a deal to play for the Golden State Warriors, scored a game-high 23 points. He managed to add 11 straight points in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

The United States got out to a 13-3 lead with 4:56 left in the first quarter, which allowed Paul George to make his first appearance for Team USA since his injury in a scrimmage for the Olympic team in August of 2014. George suffered a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula and needed a pin placed in his leg, which forced him to miss most of the 2014-15 NBA season. The Indiana Pacers forward finished the game against Argentina with 18 points, two rebounds and one assist.

The first half ended with a bang as Manu Ginobili dropped a buzzer-beating triple, but at the time Argentina was still down by 23 points. The guard scored 11 points and dished out one assist in the loss.

Argentina loaded up with Andres Nocioni, Luis Scola and Ginobili, but had no significant bench players to make a difference against a powerful United States team. Nocioni led the game for his squad with 15 points, seven rebounds and one assists, while Scola added 10 points and five rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins easily reached a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds for the USA and Carmelo Anthony tossed in 17 points.
