The new 'G-League Pathway Program' has become a viable option for the next generation of players who don't wanna go to college or overseas to continue with their development.

Couple of weeks ago, Daishen Nix, a five-star recruit, decommitted from UCLA and opted to join the new G-League select team, alongside elite prospects Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd.

The new SoCal team has picked up another good player though, since Kai Sotto has decided to skip college and has become the first international draft prospect to sign a deal in the NBA G-League pro program.

The 7-foot-2 center from the Philippines decided to join the pathway program despite having offers from the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) or the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

Sotto hopes to become the first homegrown Filipino player to make it to the NBA.
