Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond will pick up his 2020-21 player option. The big man will earn $28.7 million in the fifth and final year of his rookie scale contract extension.

Drummond, who has consistently said he enjoys playing with the young core of the Cavaliers, is now under contract through 2021.

The value of the two-time All-Star with Detroit has decreased over the last couple of years, as no teams even tried signing him during the deadline last season.

Drummond averaged 17.5 points and 11.1 rebounds in eight games with the Cavs, who were one of the eight teams excluded from the Orlando bubble. For his career, Drummond, the No. 9 overall pick in 2012, has averaged 14.5 points and 13.8 rebounds.
