Devastating news not only for the Golden State Warriors but for the entire NBA family, as the three-time champion Klay Thompson will miss the entire 2020/21 season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Warriors star Thompson has sustained a torn Achilles and will miss the entire season.

Wojnarowski also stated that based on the type of tear, Thompson has been told to expect that he will make a full recovery.

This will be the second straight season Thompson will miss due to injury. The 29 year-old also missed last year after suffering  a tore ACL during the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

Through eight seasons as a pro, Thompson has averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game to go along with 41.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The five-time All-Star played a central role in the Warriors' championship runs in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Who knows what the season awaits for the Warriors, who ended last season with the worst record in the NBA at 15-50 following five consecutive years of making the finals. Last season, Stephen Curry  also suffered a broken hand and missed most of the season, but is ready to go December 22nd.

Golden State drafted James Wiseman with the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and he is expected to play a huge part in the Warriors season if they want to have a chance of making the playoffs.
