Just two games into the NBA G-League Showcase Cup and Capitanes CDMX have signed yet another local player for the squad.

Team sources told VAVEL USA that Capitanes have signed the Mexican national Moises Andriassi to a contract for their inaugural season in the United States.

Andriassi already joined the team in Dallas and is expected to play his first career-game in the G-League this week.

Prior to Andriassi's signing, Fabian Jaimes was the team's lone-Mexican player.

Background

The 21 year-old, who played for the Covirán Granada in Spain's Second Division last season, is considered to be one of the most promising young talents of Mexican basketball.

Andriassi turned pro in 2019 and has represented his country at various youth levels before playing with the Mexico national team.

The State of Mexico native will play with Capitanes CDMX for the second time in his career, considered he signed with the team when they were part of Mexico's Professional Basketball League in 2019.

In his lone-year at Capitanes, he was honored with the league's Rookie of the Year award and was the Three-Point Contest champion. The 6'2 shooting guard also averaged 7.47 points per game while shooting 47% from the three-point line.
