Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have been playing well above average so far this year, albeit without their key centerpiece and leader LeBron James. Anthony Davis has also been through injuries and problems, but has been playing through many of the soft tissue injuries that would normally plague him in past seasons. He has an average of 24.2 points and 10.9 rebounds, which are acceptable numbers, the problem is the 112.3 points allowed by the Lakers in each game, ranking 28 in the NBA in that area.

Once LeBron returns, the situation will be very different on the court. James was averaging 24.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and seven assists before going out. He returned to action against the Celtics on Friday scoring 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting and adding six rebounds, two assists and two steals. The Lakers ended up losing the game, but LeBron played great as always, which is encouraging for the team and its fans. He played 32 minutes, so coach Vogel doesn't appear to be reducing his workload heading into this afternoon's game in Detroit.

Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons made changes at the end of last season and thus began a long rebuilding before acquiring the top pick in last year's draft. During the first month of the season, the Pistons are averaging 98.2 points per game, which is pretty mediocre, ranking last in the NBA. Sadly they rank 28th in offensive rating and last with an actual shooting percentage of 50.8.

The offensive numbers are also embarrassing and pitiful, but the future looks bright for Cade Cunningham and an extremely young Pistons team. The top pick averaged 13.7 points, 5.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 10 games. There was a little adjustment for Cade after his first two games, and from then on he has found a good rhythm. As the talent around him continues to evolve, his assists and rebounding numbers are expected to increase.

The match will be played at Little Caesars Arena

The Little Caesars Arena is a multipurpose pavilion located on Woodward Avenue in the city of Detroit, the most populated in the state of Michigan. It was inaugurated on September 5, 2017 and is the home of the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL and the Detroit Pistons of the NBA. This makes Detroit the only city in the United States to have its teams from the four major professional leagues playing downtown. It has capacity for 22, 332 people.

On November 22, 2016, it was announced that the Detroit Pistons would also be moving to Little Caesars Arena, ending 29 years of the franchise at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
