Open quotes!

If you look at last year, the Mavs played Game 7 in the first round (and lost to the LA Clippers)," said Dallas coach Jason Kidd. “So the guys took part in it. They understand what that means. So we don't need to explain what Game 7 means. I don't think there's any pressure. I think it's basketball, and you have to have fun with it. I think the team that is closest to executing their game plan wins the game.”

“These are the moments you live for,” Dinwiddie said. “Phoenix are the best team in the league in the regular season and obviously at home, [in] a hostile environment. But you know, they also say that game 7 usually goes to the top player. And I believe we have that in this series. It will be an exciting clash of styles.”

Open quotes!

“The talking points [in Saturday practice] are obviously the things we have to do to be more efficient on both sides,” Williams said. “Offensively, we are not a turnover team. So we have to see why we had all these turnovers. So defensively, just sticking to the game plan [is a point of emphasis]. Our game plan was one thing in Game 5 and something entirely different in Game 6 from an execution standpoint, and this is something we talk about – doing what we do – so that we can be effective on both sides. It was a lot of cleaning today, and then just being at the gym. It was a high-energy, intense gym. This is something we all looked forward to.”

"As you play six games in a row in a series, you know exactly what they're trying to do," said Crowder. “So it all comes down to this man in front of you. But at the same time, you need to control your emotions.”

“Our card table just had a little chat about Game 7,” Booker said. “There was nothing you could really tell me. Win or go home. We all understand this. I think Chris was in six or seven [Game 7]. So they have the experience. But our team in general, we are ready to run. We came up with a game plan today. So everybody goes home, thinks about it and be ready to run it tomorrow.”
