Baylor raced out to a 35-7 lead at halftime and it was easy sailing from that point on. The Bears won 49-28 on Saturday night against a potentially tricky Iowa State team.

Johnny Jefferson's 12 yard touchdown run made it 35-7 and there was no way back for the Cyclones.

Iowa State started strong in the second half. Richardson ran up the middle for a 47 yard touchdown to close the gap to 35-14. They then tried an onside kick, but Baylor recovered and made the Cyclones pay. Linwood's 7 yard touchdown run made it 42-14.
