Top Seeded North Florida Rolls In First Round Of A-Sun Tournament

North Florida used a balanced effort to get past Stetson and reach the Atlantic Sun semi-finals.

Top seeded North Florida (21-11, 21-2 rolled over Stetson 81-67 in the Atlantic Sun quarterfinals. Beau Beech led the way for North Florida with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

It was a balanced effort from the Ospreys who had four players score in double digits. Chris Davenport, Dallas Moore, and Trent Mackey were the other players to reach double figures.

This was North Florida’s third win over Stetson (9-22, 3-11) this year and all have come by at least 14 points. The Osprey’s did what they had to do and were never threatened in this game as they lead by 17 at halftime and continued that momentum in the second half.

North Florida will play 5th seeded Lipscomb on Thursday night in the A-Sun semifinals. If UNF was able to pull that off then it could possibly set up a title game against former NCAA tournament cinderella, Florida Gulf Coast this weekend for a trip to the NCAA tournament.
