In the 2nd game of the day for the opening of the Big South tournament, the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs poured it on the Campbell Fighting Camels to advance to the next round. Jerome Hill and Tyrell Nelson, one of the best scoring duos in the Big South, combined for 32 points to lead the way for GW, and Hill had a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Harold McBride came off of the bench to drive into the paint and score 15 points, a key player for the Runnin' Bulldogs in this game. GW's Tyler Strange, one of the best facilitators in the country, only had 1 point in the affair, but did create 6 assists.

High-volume shooter Curtis Phillips led the way for Campbell, going 9-19 to score 20 points. Senior forward Reco McCarter contributed 13 points, converting often from the line, but had 4 costly turnovers. However, the Camels' problems came from the rebounding spectrum, as they let Gardner-Webb grab 40, including 17 offensive rebounds. These o-rebs were usually put right back in by GW's Jerome Hill.

Campbell's season is now at a close, while Gardner-Webb now prepares for a tough battle against #1 seed High Point in their next 'win-or-go-home' game.
