Duke (27-3, 14-3) rolled past Wake Forest last night and in doing so the Blue Devils clinched the #2 seed in the ACC tournament next week. Grayson Allen, who outscored Wake Forest 19-15 by himself in the first half, ended with a career high 27 points to lead Duke to a 94-51 final.

Duke won its 10th straight ACC win on Wednesday night which is the 5th longest ACC winning streak in school history. Duke’s major concern heading into tournament play has to be the health of its team. Duke only has 8 scholarship players so they can ill-afford to have anyone hindered. Justice Winslow and Amile Jefferson tweaked ankles last night but did return. Jahill Okafor, Quinn Cook, and Grayson Allen have all been battling ankle injuries as of late. Speaking of Okafor, last night was the only game this year where he was held to single figures in scoring.

Wake Forest (13-17, 5-12), who is locked in as an #11 seed in the ACC tournament, looked sluggish from the start last night. Cody Miller-McIntyre, who leads Wake in scoring, led the way with 20 points last night. The team’s second leading scorer, Devin Thomas, was held without a point.

These next two weeks for Duke will be very important. First things first, they need to get healthy. That is the biggest priority between now and the NCAA tournament. The next biggest priority is trying to secure a top seed in the dance. Duke, who would be a #1 seed if it ended today, has many teams in the rearview mirror such as Villanova, Wisconsin and Arizona. One would think those four teams are battling for two #1 spots.

Duke concludes league play Saturday night at North Carolina. UNC will play angry because they felt like they should have won the game two weeks ago in Cameron. Duke will then get a double bye in the ACC tournament and will play its first game next Thursday night at 7:00 PM against the winner of the #7 - #10 matchup.

Wake Forest will conclude its regular season in Boston College and then play on Tuesday in the first round of the ACC tournament.
