The Indiana Hoosiers (20-12, 9-9 B1G) will take on the Maryland Terrapins (26-5, 14-4 B1G) in a quarterfinal game of the 2015 Big Ten tournament in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center Friday at 6:30 p.m. EST.

Maryland earned a double bye by finishing the regular season as the #2 team in the Big Ten, which means that this game vs. IU will be their first game ever in the Big Ten tournament. Indiana advanced to this game after beating Northwestern 71-56 on Thursday night.

This game matches up two teams that split the season series whent they matched up against each other this season. On January 22 in Bloomington, the Hoosiers blew out the Terps 89-70. Then on February 11 in College Park, the Terps squeaked out a win vs. the Hoosiers and beat them by a score of 68-66.

Indiana comes into this game needing another win to be able to feel comfortable about their NCAA tournament chances. Maryland, on the other hand, comes in as a tournament lock but will want to win a game or two to place themselves better when the bracket comes out on Sunday.

Maryland is led by phenom freshman Melo Trimble (16.1 PPG, 3.1 APG) and senior forward Dez Wells (15.3 PPG, 2.8 APG). These two players lead the Terps in scoring and assists, and they set the tone on the court. In addition, Jake Layman (13.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG) provides the size inside for Maryland.

Indiana is led by junior point guard Yogi Ferrell (16.0 PPG, 5.0 APG) and freshman James Blackmon, Jr. (15.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG), who both lead the Hoosiers in scoring. Troy Williams (13.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG) is a great athlete who leads the team in rebounding and is a dynamic playmaker who can jump out of the gym. He also provides great energy for this Hoosiers team.

If Hanner Mosquera-Perea is unable to play for the Hoosiers after injuring his right knee vs. Northwestern, expect Collin Hartman to get an increased role and for coach Tom Crean to use lineups that consist of four or five guards because of the lack of depth on the frontline. Mosquera-Perea will, in all odds, be a game-time decision for Indiana.

This should be a high-scoring and high-paced game that is the rubber match between the two teams. Indiana could potentially be playing for their season, so if they come out hot like they did against Northwestern, do not be surprised. This should be a close game from the opening tip off to the final buzzer.
