The player to watch in this game is certainly Bobby Portis of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was recently voted the SEC Player of the Year by coaches in the league both this year and last year. He averages 17.5 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. He has been shooting 55% from the floor this season and an amazing 46% from behind the arc. This all factors in to why he is considered to be a potential first round NBA draft pick, if he decides to the leave the Arkansas Razorbacks after this season.

The Arkansas Razorbacks have a record of 5-5 against fellow NCAA Tournament teams. Their victories are against the SMU Mustangs (78-72), Dayton Flyers (69-55), Georgia Bulldogs (79-75, 60-49), and Ole Miss Rebels (71-70). But they had several losses as well, including those against the Iowa State Cyclones (95-77), Ole Miss Rebels (96-82), LSU Tigers (81-78), and the Kentucky Wildcats (84-67, 78-63).

The Arkansas Razorbacks are near the top of the country in two big statistics. They are 16th in points per game with 78 points, and 12th in assists per game with 12.1.

The projected starting 5 for this contest for the Arkansas Razorbacks is as follows, Senior Forward Alandise Harris (6'6", 230 lbs), Junior Forward Jacorey Williams (6'8", 218 lbs), Sophomore Forward Bobby Portis (6'11", 242 lbs), Senior Guard Rashad Madden (6'5", 182 lbs), and Freshman Guard Anton Beard (6'0", 195 lbs). They are coached by a longtime assistant of Nolan Richardson, Mike Anderson, who is in his fourth year as the Head Coach of the team.

This writer is still able to remember the Arkansas Razorbacks teams coached by Nolan Richardson, who won the NCAA Tournament Title in 1994, and were the runners-up in the 1995 tournament. But it has been a while since the Razorbacks have made the tournament, with their last appearance being back in 2008, where they were a #9 seed, defeating the Indiana Hoosiers 86-72, before running into the North Carolina Tar Heels, losing 108-77.

The Arkansas Razorbacks did win their first two conference tournament games, defeating the Tennessee Volunteers (80-72), and the Georgia Bulldogs (60-49).

The Arkansas Razorbacks did not win their conference tournament, but instead they made it into the tournament as an at large team. They did make it into the final game of the Southeastern Conference tournament, where they met their season long nemesis, the Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats were able to get that victory as they moved to 34-0, defeating the Razorbacks 78-63.

In the last 5 NCAA Tournaments, the #12 seeds have defeated the #5 seeds 66% of the time. Wofford could easily be a team that someone in your bracket pool is cheering for, simply because they are playing that 12-5 upset.

The history for the Wofford Terriers in the NCAA Tournament is not pretty. They have gone 0-3, including losses to the #4 Wisconsin Badgers back in 2010 (53-49), the #3 BYU Cougars in 2011 (74-66), and the #2 Michigan Wolverines in 2014 (57-40). This means that the #12 ranking that Wofford has this season is the highest they have ever been ranked in the NCAA Tournament.

The key player for the Wofford Terriers is Karl Cochran. The Senior Guard leads the team in points per game with 14.6 and rebounds per game with 5.2. The main downside for him is that he is only a 65.7% free throw shooter, but the upside is he is their primary three point shooter, having made 96 three pointers this season, and the closest any teammate comes to that is Spencer Collins with 41 three pointers made.

The most likely starting five for the Wofford Terriers in this contest would be Senior Forward Lee Skinner (6'6", 220 lbs), Junior Forward Justin Gordon, (6'6", 205 lbs), Senior Guard Karl Cochran (6'1", 175 lbs), Junior Guard Spencer Collins (6'4", 195 lbs), and Sophomore Guard Eric Garcia (6'1", 181 lbs). The Terriers are coached by Mike Young, who has been the coach there since the start of the 2002 college basketball season.

The Wofford Terriers hold a 1-2 record against teams that made this year's NCAA Tournament. Those include a road victory over the NC State Wolfpack on December 14, 55-54, but also includes road losses to both the West Virginia Mountaineers (77-44), and the Duke Blue Devils (84-55).

The Wofford Terriers made the NCAA Tournament by virtue of winning the Southern Conference Tournament. They finished with a season long record of 28-6, including 16-2 inside their own conference. Their victories in the conference tournament came over the UNC Greensboro Spartans (70-52), Western Carolina Catamounts (73-61), and the Furman Paladins (67-64).
