The undefeated Wildcats make even more history with their win over Cincinnati on Saturday. After moving to 36-0 they now have the most wins in a season without a loss, only one year after Wichita State broke that record.

Kentucky stuck daggers in Cincinnati with only minutes remaining in this game. Most notable, Tyler Ulis hit a long three with four minutes remaining to take the air out of the Bearcats and send Kentucky to the Sweet Sixteen.

The Bearcats were the first to attack in this game, leading for a large piece of the first half and keeping Kentucky off the glass. Cincinnati controlled the pace and was able to hold, at most, a 5-point lead. But the Wildcats gritted their teeth and were able to fight for a 7-point lead going into the half.

A turning point in the Wildcats sloppy play was a highlight for the ages in terms of Willie Cauley-Stein. Cauley-Stein soared for the rafters and came back down with a thundering dunk over Quadri Moore. Kentucky would never trail again after this play.

The second half is when it began to get chippy in terms of emotion. The fouls got harder and the play seemed to be more physical. There was even some obvious arguing between teams at times.

A certain play, demonstrated the physicality perfectly. Trey Lyles was fouled on a move to the bucket and some bumping ensued between Aaron Harrison and Troy Caupain. Harrison was assessed a technical foul for the dead ball roughness.

It is doubtful love is shared between these teams due to the intense rivalry they shared many years ago. There's little excuse for poor sportsmanship but when it provides such an energy you can't help but love the intensity.

Despite the past problems in this rivalry and the reason it was put to an end after this game it's easy to see they should begin to schedule each other again. The atmosphere was unbelievable when these two teams took the floor. To see this kind of game every year would be a gift to the public.

The Bearcats won the rebounding battle 43-35 over a bigger Kentucky squad. This was due to Cincinnati continually get under Kentucky players and boxing out well enough to at least tip the rebound away from the Wildcats.

Kentucky was doing their work on defense. The Wildcats had nine blocks and seven steals. Kentucky even had four blocks on one play in the second half in what looked like the best defensive sequence the Cats have put together all season.

Kentucky has provided some of the best Round of 32 games these past two years and will again advance to the Sweet Sixteen. This time, they won't be the underdogs.
