Tempe—The Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the University of Colorado Buffaloes 48-23 on Saturday night.

The Sun Devils were led by the play of their senior quarterback Mike Bercovici who provided a career night for his team.

Bercovici tossed his first of five touchdown passes early in the first quarter to tight end Kody Kohl to give ASU a 14-0 lead over the Buffaloes.

He found wide receiver Tim White for a 38-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and a 45-yard bomb early in the third quarter to give the Sun Devils a 31-10 lead over CU in the third quarter.

Unable to muster much of an offense was the story for the Buffaloes for another Saturday night loss. Running back Phillip Lindsay scampered into the endzone for a 16-yard touchdown run and kicker Diego Gonzalez added a 27-yard field goal to give the Buffs 10 points in the first half.

Bercovici tossed touchdown numbers four and five on the night in the third and fourth quarter. Wide receiver Devin Lucien caught a 10-yard touchdown pass and D.J Foster caught a 12-yard touchdown pass, which is the last pass Bercovici would throw in the blowout win. Kicker Zane Gonzalez tacked on two field goals, from 22-yards and 26-yards, to help extend the Sun Devil lead to a final score of 48-23 over the Buffs.

Bercovici finished the night completing 20 of 31 passes for 260 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.

Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau completed 25 passes on 40 passes for 389 yards.
