The No. 11 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin got in a bar fight at a place called Pat O'Breins, was arrested and was charged with a felony in San Antonio, Texas. During the fight, he allegedly struck a bicycle patrol officer. He will not be in action against the No. 15 Oregon Ducks in the 2016 Valero Alamo Bowl. On the spot for the Horned Frogs will be senior quarterback Bram Kohlhausen, who will take over for Boykin.

Boykin was charged with third-degree felony assault of a police officer with a $5,000 bond, according to Mark Schlabach of ESPN

Gary Patterson, the head coach of TCU, said, "Trevone Boykin and [junior wide receiver] Preston Miller have been suspended for Saturday's game due to a violation of team rules. We are disappointed in their actions and apologize to the TCU Horned Frogs Nation, Valero Alamo Bowl and city of San Antonio."

Boykin led the Horned Forgs to a 10-2 regular season record with losses against the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. They defeated the Baylor Bears, Kansas State Wildcats, Iowa State Cyclones and West Virginia Mountaineers on the way to a great season.

It took Boykin 3,575 yards and 31 touchdowns to lead the Frogs all the way to the Alamo Bowl against the Ducks. The senior finished his career with 10,728 yards passing and 86 touchdowns. The quarterback earned second-team All-American last season. Boykin, a 6-foot-2, 205 pound native of Dallas, Texas will not be the only player suspended as Preston Miller was also suspended by Patterson for the Alamo Bowl. Miller only caught one pass for six yards on the season.

The San Antonio police department released this statement regarding Boykin: "On December 31, 2015 at approximately 1:52 hours I was standing on Losoya St. for the bar breakout when employee's from Pat O'Breins waved at me to signal a problem with one of their customers. Bar employee's were attempting to remove a patron from the bar. The male was fighting with the employees as they moved onto the sidewalk. I moved across the street and sperated the groups from each other. The AP was very aggressive and was being held back by the group the he was with. Members of his group stated they would get him back to the hotel they were staying at. AP then walked northbound on Losoya with the group as I turned to speak with bar employees. I then heard a commotion behind me and turned to see AP charging officers that arrived to assist. AP was swinging at Officer Becker and sever officers took AP to the ground where the fight continued. AP would not comply with the command to stop resisting until I stated I would tase him. AP was placed in the wagon. CSI and EMS were notified and responded to the scene. CSI photographed the officer from injuries. EMS treated the officer at the Bike Office for lacerations he sustained during the fight. We were told by several bystanders the AP was the starting quarterback for Texas Christian University. NCID was notified and responded to the scene. The AP was transported to the NCID for statements."

San Antonio Police chief William McManus said the officer had a swollen face, busies and other injures. It was so bad that he was treated immediately by the emergency medical personnel. McManus mentioned that the department has ordered cameras to watch record of the interaction.

"Clearly this was not an appropriate way to act," McManus said of Boykin. "He was heckled and he responded to it."

TCU released a statement saying, "We are aware of a situation last night and are gathering information. We will continue to closely monitor this and evaluate additional details and they become avaliable."

Mark Schlabach of ESPN was told that Boykin was in his room when there was a mandatory curfew check at midnight, but then he snuck back out into the city.

Kohlhausen, a 23-year-old from Houston, Texas, threw for 369 yards, three touchdowns and one interceptions. He had his best game when the quarterback threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns in the teams 29-30 loss against Oklahoma on November 21, 2015.

Desmon White, Shaun Nixon and Josh Doctson will lead the receiving game. White caught 19 passes for 258 yards, Nixon picked up 66 yards on 16 catches and Doctson led them all with 79 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns.

With Kohlhausen and without Boykin, the Horned Frogs will look to defy all odds and defeat the Ducks in the Alamo Bowl on January 2, 2016 in the Alomodone, which is located in San Antonio, Texas.
