This is Pat Duerr, saying goodnight. Thanks for joining me for this exciting game!

Kentucky faced many fouls in the second half, and it seemed KU went to the line almost every possession. It was difficult to overcome the fact Kentucky was missing their top three big men in overtime due to fouling out.

The man of the game is easily Kansas' Wayne Selden Jr., he lit up the Wildcats and led his team to the overtime win. Kentucky's Tyler Ulis had an effort that won't be dismised, playing all 45 minutes and never let up for a moment.

OT (0:01) Two made free throws for KU and Ulis hits a three but it's too little too late.

OT (0:25) Ellis hits two free throws. Hawkins lays it in and UK fouls again.

A call is overturned and ball is given to KU despite it looking indesputable. Home team gets the benefit of that.

OT (3:20) Labissiere with a jumper and then Selden slams it on the other end!

Expecting anything less from the next game between these two teams would just be downright crazy.

These two always provide shocking outcomes. Whether it be a blow out, buzzer beater, upset or a NCAA champion, there's just never a dull game between Kansas and Kentucky.

Kansas has hit a rough patch, losing three of their last five. They even let a TCU squad stay in the game late at Allen Fieldhouse in that five game stretch. The Jayhawks are in upset mode though, knowing Kentucky wants to leave Lawrence with a win.

With Kentucky returning to old habits and pulling out the 'Refuse to Lose' campaign, they have played much better basketball. That goes to show basketball is as much of a mental game as it is physical.

Enough Kansas defense, they will also need some offense. Ellis will need to knock down some perimeter shots to sink the Wildcats. Kentucky is unable to stop 3-pointers if they keep falling, so if Ellis gets on a roll, there's no stopping him.

Ulis is still shorter than Mason III, but his speed and basketball IQ is much larger than his size. Ulis may be 5'9, but he knows the game of basketball so well and uses his small size to an advantage almost every play.

For Kansas, their game will depend a lot on how well Frank Mason III can guard Tyler Ulis. Ulis has put up 20+ points in three straight games and Mason III may have some trouble despite their likeness in size.

Kentucky has yet to have their complete game yet they need a game where they play their best basketball for almost 40 minutes. Doing that in their biggest game of the season would be ideal for the Wildcats.

The "runnin' and gunnin'" Wildcats have easily been the best type of basketball this team plays. They've shown flashes of this against Duke, Louisville and Missouri.

Kentucky's defense is their biggest key to the game in this one. Without solid press, Kentucky can't get into the flow they want. The Wildcats need to full court press from the get-go and make the game play out how they like it.

Kentucky's Alex Poythress will likely find himself matched with Kansas' Perry Ellis all game. Poythress needs to stay out of foul trouble because his leadership and inside defense is needed in an environment like this.

Their match up will be interesting as Diallo has remained one of the country's best shot-blockers all season. Labissiere has recently shown his defensive prowess after a five block game against Missouri.

Labissiere played the entire season, Diallo took some time and was eventually cleared after Kansas played five regular season games without him.

Kentucky's Skal Labissiere and Kansas' Cheick Diallo will draw many eyes in their match up. These are two players who struggled to become eligible, and then downright struggled once cleared by the NCAA.

Kansas just has to come out focused and be the aggressor. Kentucky has had problems with teams that want to attack them all game and tend to allow those teams to control the flow. As long as Kansas controls the flow, they win with help from their crowd.

The Wildcats will likely play with a sense of urgency while visiting one of the most rocking arenas in college basketball. If they play relaxed basketball, they will find themselves fighting to get back into a game that got out of hand.

Kentucky is in need of the win a little more. They have quality wins over a now struggling Duke squad and Louisville, but their losses to Auburn, Ohio State and UCLA are starting to hurt them.

Both these teams are in need of a win against each other in the worst way possible. Kansas has a win over top ranked Oklahoma, but their four losses don't bode well with the selection committee.

Kansas' last win against the Wildcats was in 2007, a second round knock-out of the Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament. The last time these two met in Allen Fieldhouse was 2006; blowout victory on favor of the Jayhawks.

The last time these two met, it was less competitive than anticipated. Kentucky's big men protected the paint and helped the Wildcats to a 72-40 win in the Champion's Classic last year.

The Wildcats are 7-4 against the Jayhawks in Allen Fieldhouse, making them the only team with a winning record over Kansas after 5+ games.

This will be the 29th meeting between the two schools, Kentucky currently leads the all-time series 22-6.

Kentucky comes in with a record of 16-4 (6-2) with losses to UCLA, Ohio State, LSU and Auburn. Kansas also is 16-4 (5-3) with losses to Michigan State, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Iowa State.
