Some people call him the best high school prospect since LeBron James, and the No. 1 player of the 2022 class has finally committed to play Division 1 basketball.

As a junior in high school, Emoni Bates has decided to take his talents to East Lansing and play for coach Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.

Bates, a 6-foot-8 and 180-pound small forward out of Lincoln High School, picked the Spartans over Michigan. Still, there's a great possibility that he opts by choosing the professional route instead of going to the NCAA.

The Forward has gained a lot of popularity over the most recent years, and even called a 'Mini Kevin Durant' for his way of scoring off the dribble and in multiple areas of the floor despite being so tall.

Former MSU player, Jaren Jackson Jr. even posted on social media how excited he was that Bates will be joining the Spartans.
