The Frisco Bowl is back
The Frisco Bowl is a NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision postseason college football game played in Frisco, Texas, since December 2017.
On April 21, 2017, it was announced that the Miami Beach Bowl, which had been owned and operated by the American Athletic Conference, had been sold to ESPN Events and would be moving to Frisco, Texas, to be played each year at Toyota Stadium. as of the 2017 season.
On December 3, 2017, SMU and Louisiana Tech were announced as the teams for the opening game of the Bowl. In 2019, Tropical Smoothie Cafe became the new title sponsor.
The 2020 Frisco Bowl was originally scheduled to be contested by SMU Mustangs and UTSA Roadrunners. The game was scheduled to be the first meeting between the two teams, however, two days after the match was announced, the 2020 edition was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

News from San Diego State
This afternoon, two of the NCAAF's best teams outside of the Power Five face off when San Diego State meets UTSA in the Frisco Bowl. The Aztecs earned their ticket to the Mountain West Championship Game after reaching 11 victories in the regular season, marking the first time in history that they have done so.
Although they lost to Utah state, the Aztecs also caused 20 players to miss the title game due to Covid-19 issues. Today they will have good news as they have recovered their best elements.

News from UTSA
UTSA comes to this Bowl in the second season of head coach Jeff Traylor. After entering the year with no more than seven wins since joining Conference USA in 2012, the Roadrunners finished 12-1 with a 49-41 victory over Western Kentucky to win the conference.
Running back Sincere McCormick will not play for UTSA in today's game after declaring for the NFL Draft. However, both teams should be highly motivated regardless of absences; The Road Runners haven't won a Bowl game in history, and these two teams haven't met.
