Adrian Peterson has been in big talk in the past week. After the Ray Rice incident, people must have wondered if it could've gotten any worse and well, it did. Adrian Peterson is in the process of being investigated for child abuse on his four-year-old son.

Castrol Oil Motors cancelled their sponsorship specifically of Adrian Peterson, after this investigation news came about. Other sponsors to leave include the Radisson hotel chain stopping their partnership with the Vikings. The big one, which news came about this morning of, is Nike stopping the sale of Adrian Peterson merchandise in the Twin Cities. Wheaties also took Adrian Peterson off their website, according to SI.com.

“We are aware of the concerning allegations surrounding Adrian Peterson,” Nike said, via Darren Rovell of ESPN.  “We will continue to closely monitor the situation.”

What's weird about Nike is they only stopped the selling of merchandise in stores. You can still purchase Adrian Peterson products , for $150 dollars still this writer might add. It seems like a statement made but really Nike is trying to milk out as much money as they can.

The Governor of Minnesota had something to say on the matter as well.

"It is an awful situation," Gov. Mark Dayton said Tuesday. "Yes, Mr. Peterson is entitled to due process and should be 'innocent until proven guilty.' However, he is a public figure; and his actions, as described, are a public embarrassment to the Vikings organization and the state of Minnesota. Whipping a child to the extent of visible wounds, as has been alleged, should not be tolerated in our state. Therefore, I believe the team should suspend Mr. Peterson, until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system."

The amount of sponsors that will drop either the Vikings, NFL, or Adrian Peterson will likely add up soon, especially if Peterson plays on Sunday.
