The bad news for the Bengals this week started on Sunday night when they got throttled by the New England Patriots, but got even worse on Wednesday afternoon in practice when A.J. Green had to be carted off the field after re-injuring the toe that didn't cause any previous draw backs in weeks 3 and 5 after injuring it early in the week two game against the Atlanta Falcons. To be completely honest, he played pretty similarly to his week 1 stats against the Ravens in both week 3 and 5, after having a bye in week 4. It didn't seem like it was holding him back at all, so to get news like this is terrible for Andy Dalton and Hue Jackson.

What does this injury mean for the other wide receivers on the Bengals? Well, their second wide receiver has yet to play this year in Marvin Jones. This means that after Mohamed Sanu, that their next best wide receiver is former Ohio State receiver Dane Sanzenbacher. Sanzenbacher has a total of 3 catches for 47 yards this year. He had 7 catches for 68 total yards between the last 2 seasons. The Bengals are in a desperate situation as they have now reported that Green is going to get an MRI done on his toe to evaluate the seriousness of how injured it truly is after Wednesday's practice.

What this means is that the Bengals are going to get ready to feed the ball to Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill now more than ever. Keep the ball moving downhill, and if opponents load the box Dalton can make a pass to Sanu or to his tight end Jermaine Gresham. It certainly is a watered down version of the offense without Green on the field, because he is their legitimate deep threat and man who deserves double coverage most of the time he is on the field. Without him, expect the Bengals to have a difficult time this week as they host the Carolina Panthers.
