The Dallas Cowboys visited the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium in a game that didn't mean much for either team. Both Dallas and Buffalo won't have a post season, for Buffalo, as previously mentioned by everyone, for the 16th consecutive season.

The game started with the Bills winning the toss and deferring to Dallas. It was Kellen Moore's first start for the Cowboys and the first drive produced a field goal making it 3-0 Dallas early in the first.

The Bills first possession ended in a failed 4th and 3 attempt after a pass from Tyrod Taylor to Chris Hogan. Dallas got the ball back on downs and marched down the field. The drive ended in a 50-yard field goal attempted that was short. The score remained 3-0.

Buffalo's offense took the field again. This time the Bills moved the ball down the field with some great run plays from Karlos Williams and Michael Gillislee. Williams capped off the drive with a rushing touchdown after Gillislee's touchdown was reversed and he was called down on the one on the previous play. Dan Carpenter's struggle with extra points continued and the Bills settled for 6.

The second quarter started out slow for both teams. Dallas eventually got another field goal with 5:25 left in the second quarter. The Bills had a chance with the clock winding down in the second quarter to get some points but Tyrod Taylor's pass was intercepted in the end zone. The score stood at 6-6 at the half.

Buffalo got a field goal in the middle of the third quarter for the first score of the second half putting the Bills ahead  6-9. Late in the third the Bills A.J. Tarpley intercepted a jumbled ball giving the Bills the chance to extend their lead. Karlos Williams got the ball on a run play and fumbled and the ball went back to Dallas.

The fourth quarter was slow going most of the time until about three minutes left in the game. Michael Gillislee exploded for a 50-yard touchdown run. It put the Bills up 6-15. Dan Carpenter hit this extra point making the score 6-16 with a little more than two minutes left in the game.

The Cowboys fumbled on the return on the next play and the Bills recovered it with 2:18 left in the game. After the two minute warning, the Bills ran out the clock and the final score stood at 6-16. The Bills improve to 7-8 and the Cowboys fall to 4-11. Next week the Bills will try to move to a .500 record and spoil the playoff hopes of their divisional rival, the New York Jets. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys will host the winners of the NFC East in the Washington Redskins
