Jameis Winston returned to NFL action in fine style as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers proved to be too much for the Cleveland Browns on Friday night.

He threw for 259-yards and two touchdowns in just one half of the match, as he is easing his way back into match action ahead of the new season.

The Bucs were aiming to start off much faster on offense, and they did just that as they cruised to a 30-13 victory over the Browns.

Griffin III showed some talent

Robert Griffin III, who was released by the Washington Redskins in the offseason, was also on show for fans to see and he showed his worth too.

He completed eight of 14 passes for 119-yards with one touchdown during one half of football; Josh McCown took over the QB helm in the second-half.

The main point from Griffin’s game is that he didn’t throw a single interception either, which was a problem of his in Washington.

Browns’ wide receiver Josh Gordon was only targeted twice in the entire game, yet he still ended the game with 87 receiving yards as he managed to get the better of Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes on both occasions.

Good day for the wide receivers

Gordon had not played a game since December 2014, as he was suspended for the entire 2015 campaign for violating the NFL’s policy on substance abuse.

Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans, one of the Bucs’ prized assets, made five receptions for 115-yards, which included a 34-yard touchdown from Winston.

The quarterback completed 16 of his 25 attempted passes in probably his last game before the season gets underway, as all 32 teams have one more match next weekend.

The likelihood that any team will be putting their assets on show next weekend is very unlikely, especially with the risk of injury being possible ahead of the season curtain raiser.

Bucs all ready to go

The scoring all began when Winston found Charles Sims for a three-yard touchdown at the beginning of the first quarter.

And at the end of the same quarter, the Bucs managed to produce a brilliant play on special teams as Adam Humphries returned a punt for a 73-yard touchdown.

Winston had his second touchdown of the game when he connected with Evans spectacularly, and you feel this duo will cause problems for defences this season.

RGIII turned on his game in the second quarter and threw a superb pass down the field to Gordon, who made a double move on his man and caught the pass in the end zone.

A late field goal from Travis Coons put the icing on the cake for the home side, who will have been pleased with what they seen in the game.
