Very good offensive duo
The Broncos have a great pairing from the backfield with Melvin Gordon II and rookie Javonte Williams. They combined to average 6.5 yards per carry last week, but OC Pat Shurmur underutilized them, with just four carries after halftime, 16 total in a 23-7 loss to the Ravens.
Williams, who leads the NFL with a 37% missed tackle rate according to the NFL's official website, had a 31-yard defensive run against the Ravens last week.

Bridgewater spent the week on concussion protocol, which means there's a chance Drew Lock will start. Lock started in Pittsburgh during Denver's visit in Week 2 last year before being knocked out with a shoulder injury in the first quarter of what turned into a 26-21 loss.
Lock didn't exactly prosper after going for an injured Bridgewater against the Ravens. He completed just 12 of 21 passes for 113 yards with an interception, although Fangio set out to blame an entire offense that managed just 254 yards.
This is how the teams arrive
The Steelers haven't lost four games in a row since 2016. That team rallied to reach the AFC championship game. This group simply needs to find a way to fall further behind in what appears to be an ultra-competitive AFC North.
Even with the Broncos off to their best start since 2017, they are still a work in progress. Their first three wins were against teams that are 2-10 combined. A sad loss to Baltimore at home last week, a game in which starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left with a concussion, did little to silence skeptics of him.
A win at Pittsburgh, even against the current version of the Steelers, would go a long way in showing that Fangio is making progress in his fourth season.

The Denver Broncos have to establish the running attack to take the victory
Unlike the Steelers, the Denver Broncos love to run the ball and should lean a bit more on it with the questions surrounding Bridgewater, but running back Melvin Gordon III was limited in practice with a concussion to the bottom of Leg. Gordon has had a regular year so far, as he has 51 carries for 248 yards, 4.9 yards per carry on average, and a pair of touchdowns, as well as adding eight receptions for 87 yards passing. As for his last game against the Baltimore Ravens, he finished with nine attempts for 56 yards, 6.2 yards per carry and two receptions for 11 yards. If Gordon and the Broncos can set up the running game this afternoon at Heinz Field, this Denver offense is going to be a headache for Pittsburgh.

Denver defense has experience and leadership
The Denver Broncos have been an incredible defensive team, allowing 12.3 points per game so far this NFL season. In their last game against the Baltimore Ravens, they gave up 23 points on 406 total yards of offense, of which 304 were passing and 102 rushing. Denver did a good job stopping the Ravens on third down chances, as Baltimore went 7 of 17 during those chances. One step this defense must take in this game is to stop the run a little longer, as the Ravens averaged 3.4 yards per rushing attempt. If the Broncos can correct those mistakes, and stop the Steelers' offense, not only will they win this afternoon but they can go far this season.

The passing game will have to appear to beat the Broncos
The Pittsburgh Steelers need to pass the ball well, and wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been the best player in receiving yards this season. So far this season, he has 23 receptions for 233 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per reception, and a pair of touchdowns. In his last game against the Green Bay Packers, Johnson finished with nine receptions on 13 goals with 92 yards, 10.2 yards per reception average, and a touchdown on his personal account. The Steelers need to build plays to give them an advantage against the Broncos defense if they want to win.

The Steelers defense needs to improve
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been a decent defensive team this season, allowing 23.3 points per game so far. As for their last game against the Green Bay Packers, they gave up 27 points on 367 total yards of offense, of which 236 were passing and 131 rushing.
The Steelers need to stop the Broncos on third down, as the Packers posted an incredible 9 of 15 at third down. Pittsburgh's defense needs to improve a lot, allowing 5.1 yards per play. The Steelers have to solve their problems, because the season is advancing and they cannot keep losing games.
