After a tough road loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks return home to the Pacific Northwest to do battle with yet another NFC West opponent based in the Golden State.

The San Francisco 49ers hit the road for the second straight game after being demolished in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton torched San Francisco’s defense to the tune of 353 yards and four touchdowns. Fozzy Whittaker stepped in for Jonathan Stewart and racked up 100 yards on 16 carries.

Both Greg Olsen (122) and Kelvin Benjamin (108) topped the century mark in receiving yards.

The Seahawks will likely be looking to exploit the same things Carolina did in San Francisco’s defense.

Having some key players healthier on offense will certainly help.

Quarterback Russell Wilson, tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Doug Baldwin weren’t listed on the final injury report after fully participating in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Wilson could be for a solid performance in terms of throwing the ball and running it. The quarterback racked up 495 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in two games versus the Niners last season. Just last week, Newton added 37 rushing yards versus Chip Kelly’s defense.

Former players

From Darrell Jackson and Julian Peterson to Michael Robinson and Ricardo Lockette, there have been a number of players to suit up for both franchises. However, there currently aren’t many players on either side who’ve been employed by both teams. In fact, there is just one player on either roster who has experience with the two teams.

Long snapper Kyle Nelson previously was in Seattle for a short spell in the offseason during 2013. Despite bouncing around, the veteran has settled in and found a home in the Bay Area. Nelson has started the last 34 games for the 49ers.

Injury Report

For the Seahawks, three players are listed as doubtful for Sunday’s showdown against San Francisco. Those three include tight end Nick Vannett (ankle), offensive lineman Germain Ifedi (ankle) and running back Thomas Rawls (shin). Wide receiver Tyler Lockett (knee) and running back C.J. Prosise have both been listed as questionable.

On the other side of the field, tackle Anthony Davis (concussion) is listed as out for the 49ers after missing the weeks’ worth of practices. Additionally, a pair of safeties is listed as questionable for Kelly in Marcus Cromartie (ankle) and Jasquiski Tartt (knee).

Television coverage

The game will be nationally televised on Fox.

Kickoff Time

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 PM Eastern Time.
