Chicago, IL - The Chicago Blackhawks came out Saturday night looking for their first home win of the season, and they did just that by topping the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 6-2.

The scoring started early when Andrew Shaw redirected Niklas Hjalmarsson's blast from the blue line giving Chicago the early 1-0 lead. Chicago would not stop the scoring there. Roughly 2 minutes later, it was defenseman Duncan Keith who lit the lamp for his second goal on the year. Keith's shot was a rocket from the point that snuck past Buffalos net minder Jhonas Enroth.

With Buffalo having the youngest squad in the NHL, getting an early two goal lead was huge for Chicago and a great way to rattle the young minds of the Saber skaters. However, Buffalo was able to tickle the twine mid-way through the first when Zemgus Girgensons rifled one past Corey Crawford at the 7:17 mark. Andrej Meszaros and Drew Stafford would each be awarded the assists.

The Blackhawks would come close to getting on the board again, but this time the post stood in their way. Ben Smith fired a shot that ricocheted off the iron and out. Buffalo would eventually catch the 'Hawks on a bad break and would score again. This time it was Tyler Ennis who snuck the biscuit right past the glove of Corey Crawford at the 18:40 mark in the first and Drew Stafford would be accredited with the lone assist.

The second period was boring to say the least, however, there was some excitement and that was when Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa scored, but the goal would be reviewed and then negated due to the fact that Hossa kicked the puck in.

The third period was much more exciting, as Chicago lit the lamp four times in the period to give Chicago their second straight when this season. Patrick Kane would tally the game winner for the second straight game and Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, and Daniel Carcillio joining the scoring affair as well.

Chicago posted a 2-0-0 record against the Buffalo Sabres during the 2013-14 season and maintains a six game win streak against Buffalo dating back to 2010-11.

Chicago has not lost to the Sabres at home since January 10, 2007.
