Edmonton Oilers Players to Watch

The next three players are essential for the team's offense and defense, and the result they get on Monday will depend a lot on them. German center Leon Draisaitl (#29) is considered the best player on the team. He has the highest number of goals and the second highest assist for the Oilers, in the 2021-2022 regular season he had 55 goals and 55 assists. The second player is Connor McDavid (#97), he plays center and is the team's top assistant with 79 assists in 80 games played. Finally, goalkeeper Mike Smith (#41) has had very good games in the playoffs, he will be very important for the defense and he made a total of 800 saves on the season.

Edmonton Oilers in the tournament

The Oilers had an incredible regular tournament, after 49 wins, 27 losses and 6 losses in overtime they got 104 points that left them in fifth place in the western conference. The Oilers are in the 11th position in the league and are part of the Pacific Division. Their last 3 regular season games ended in victory. In the first round of the playoffs they were victorious against the Los Angeles Kings by winning the series in game 7. They faced the Calgary Flames in the second round of the playoffs and won the series 4-1 to advance to the conference finals. They arrive as the underdogs to win the finals against the Avalanche, however they could surprise the tournament and advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Colorado Avalanche Players to Watch

The next three players are essential for the team's offense and defense, and the result they get on Monday will depend a lot on them. The first is center Nathan MacKinnon (#29), who has played very well in the postseason. He has the most goals in the team playoffs with 10 goals, in the 2021-2022 regular season he managed 32 goals and 52 assists. The second player is Cale Makar (#8), he plays as a defender and had 28 goals and 58 assists in the tournament. He is the team's highest assistant in the playoffs, notching 13 assists in 13 games and also managed 4 goals. Finally, goalkeeper Darcy Kuemper (#35) has had very good games in the playoffs, it will be very important for him to keep playing well and he made a total of 1,616 saves on the season.

Colorado Avalanche in the tournament

The Avalanche had an incredible regular tournament, after 54 wins, 20 losses and 8 losses in overtime they got 119 points that left them in second place in the Eastern Conference. Colorado is in second position in the league and is part of the central division. Their last 2 regular season games ended in losses. In the first round of the playoffs they swept the Nashville Predators 4-0 in the series and showed their dominance on the court. They faced the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the playoffs and ended up winning the series 4-2. They are favorites for the Eastern Conference finals because of their performance in the regular season and are expected to advance to the grand finale of the tournament.

The stadium

The venue for this match is the Rogers Place stadium, it is the home of the Edmonton Oilers and is located in the city of Edmonton, Canada. It is a multipurpose stadium with a capacity of 18,500 spectators. Since September 8, 2016, it has become the official arena of the team and cost approximately 279 million dollars.
