FC Kansas City announced that they waived Amanda Frisbie on July 19, 2016. The former Portland player graduated from the University of Portland in 2013. In the 2014 NWSL College Draft she was selected by the Seattle Reign  as the seventh player. Unfortunately due to an injury she missed the 2014 season with Seattle Reign.

"We wanted to sign Amanda early to demonstrate our commitment to helping her develop into a key part of our squad. I expect Amanda to be an integral part of our season in 2014 and believe she has the capacity to be an impact player in the league in the future."
- Laura Harvey, Head Coach of Seattle Reign

Frisbie's time with Flash

In the following 2015 NWSL season, Frisbie was traded to the Western New York Flash. With the Flash, Frisbie started in two games, but played in four overall.

This past November, Frisbie was traded to FC Kansas City in an offseason trade along with another fellow Flash player, defender Brittany Taylor. Director of Soccer Operations, Huw Williams made this comment on Frisbie's trade to FC Kansas City: “Amanda Frisbie is a young talented player who is extremely versatile and we feel her abilities will fit in very well within our system.”

After the trade with the Flash, Frisbie started three games and played 270 minutes of game time with FC Kansas City. The 2014 and 2015 NWSL Championship team, Kansas City has now waived the 24 year old midfielder. To be waived from a team is a method of releasing players to another club team.
