Congratulations to Joey Logano on his victory in an action packed finished at Richmond International Raceway. Thanks for joining me Mark Smith for tonight's coverage of the Toyota Owners 400 on VAVEL USA. Next week it is off to Talladega Superspeedway, Alabama for a race on the fastest speedway on earth, will payback be given to drivers who have feuds and will there be a surprise winner like David Ragan last year?

Post race: A number of big name drivers who are yet to get a win finished outside of the top 20 places. Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer are some of them

Post race: Joey Logano says: "I'm really surprised, this is one of my worst tracks but one heck of a finish and pretty cool to be standing here (In victory lane) now"

Post race: Tempers are flaring all over the track. Brad Keselowski wasn't happy with the blocking that Matt Kenseth put on him to prevent him from winning the race. Elsewhere Marcos Ambrose and Casey Mears get into a fistfight in the garage area and Ambrose landed a punch on Mears

Post race: Joey Logano stayed out of trouble between the top two drivers squabbling over the lead and took advantage to get his second win of the season and book his place in the Chase at the end of the season

Post race: Great five car battle at the end. Four laps to go Matt Kenseth lead from Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano snuck through on the inside to steal the lead away from the #20 of Matt Kenseth

Chequered Flag: Joey Logano wins at Richmond

White flag: Joey Logano leads from Jeff Gordon

5 laps to go: Three car battle for the lead, Matt Kenseth leads

10 laps to go: Matt Kenseth remains in front as the green flag comes out

14 laps to go: A number of drivers are on pit road, mainly drivers who are at the end of the lead lap

15 laps to go: Matt Kenseth holds a slender lead over Dale Earndhart Jr. JJ Yeley has trouble and the caution is thrown

19 laps to go: Green flag back in the air and it is go time. Matt Kenseth leads the field at the start

24 laps to go: Caution. Denny Hamlin gets trapped in the middle of a group of cars and is the only driver involved in the caution

26 laps to go: Matt Kenseth leads the field to the green for the first time tonight with Dale Earndhart Jr on his outside

30 laps to go: Pit road is open and the leaders are in. Matt Kenseth wins the race off pit road and Jeff Gordon slows coming off pit road so that he can start on the inside and get a better restart

33 laps to go: Caution. Jimmie Johnson had a right front tire going down and was struggling to make it to pit road. With so few laps left strategy could be a factor on this pit stop

38 laps to go: Matt Kenseth becomes the eigth different leader of tonight's race. Drivers are starting to come to pit road and they are within that window when drivers have had tire troubles tonight

40 laps to go: Matt Kenseth in the #20 car is closing the gap on leader Jeff Gordon. New leader at the end of that lap

44 laps to go: Two surprise drivers of the late going in this race are Brian Vickers and Ryan Newman who are in fourth and fifth respectively

48 laps to go: The Penske team mates are beginning to fade in this race, whereas the Hendrick cars are storming up through the field

55 laps to go: This late into the race there are still 41 cars in this race. Recently fans have been happy with how little drivers are starting and parking unlike in the past when a number of drivers would start the race but not finish

60 laps to go: Jeff Gordon goes back to the lead after blocking the #22 car of Joey Logano in between himself and a lap down car

63 laps to go: A number of spotters are telling their driver to look out for Ryan Newman in the #31 car as he is one of the strongest cars on track

72 laps to go: The Penske team mates are still leading, but Jeff Gordon in third is starting to close the gap on Brad Keselowski

85 laps to go: There are currently 23 cars on the lead lap, ending with Marcos Ambrose who just got shunted up the track by David Gilliland but managed to save it

90 laps to go: Penske team mates Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano are trying to make a break away from the rest of the chasing pack

95 laps to go: Joey Logano goes to the lead after passing Jeff Gordon and Dale Earndhart Jr

Lap 303: Green flag is back out and Dale Earndhart Jr leads the field to the line for the first time tonight, just under 100 laps to go at Richmond International Raceway

Lap 299: Pit road is open after Ricky Stenhouse Jr is out of the way. Dale Earndhart Jr wins the race of pit road and leads for the first time tonight and Junior nation goes wild

Lap 296: Caution. Ricky Stenhouse Jr gets into the wall and he is another driver with a front right corner of his car on fire

Lap 293: A few drivers on pit road due to the warnings of tire issues that some drivers have had in the race so far

Lap 290: Interesting stat for everybody, the last four winners of a race at Richmond International Raceway haven't led a lap until after this point in the race. Within the top ten there are four drivers who this concerns including Dale Earndhart Jr in second

Lap 283: There are currently 25 cars on the lead lap. Only two cars are out of the race still, Clint Bowyer and Reed Sorenson

Lap 276: Jeff Gordon continues to lead over Joey Logano and his lead is currently 1.7 seconds

Lap 270: A driver quietly going about his business in tonight's race is Ryan Newman who has made his way upto 7th place on the track

Lap 266: Last years one-two finishers in the points standings, Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth, are battling it out for ninth place

Lap 260: Local driver Denny Hamlin has worked his way up into the top five after starting in 26th position

Lap 254: Jeff Gordon goes back to the lead of the race. He has a really strong car after ten laps into a run

Lap 250: Joey Logano is the leader by 0.30 from Jeff Gordon

Lap 246: Clint Bowyer and Reed Sorenson are the only cars officially out of the race. Sorenson brought his car to pit road as it was engulfed in flames on the last caution. Cole Whitt has returned to the racetrack but is 30 laps down

Lap 242: Three wide into turn one and Austin Dillon is the loser as he is shoved up the racetrack and out of the groove losing multiple spots

Lap 240: Green flag back in the air at Richmond and Jeff Gordon is the leader

Lap 229: Pit road is open and the leaders are in for their stops. Jeff Gordon easily wins the race of pit road, followed by Joey Logano who will also start on the front row

Lap 226: Caution. Reed Sorenson has a right front tire down. Just over 50 laps on a set of tires seems to be the window in which drivers tires begin to fail and blow up

Lap 220: Jeff Gordon has a one second lead over Joey Logano who has passed Brad Keselowski

Lap 210: Three way battle for the lead between Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano. For the time being Jeff Gordon prevails as the leader

Lap 201: Halfway report. Brad Keselowski was in charge for the first part of the race after the early caution between Clint Bowyer and rookie Kyle Larson. Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick have led a good number of laps between them. Clint Bowyer and Cole Whitt are the only cars out of the race after their tire troubles. Currently there have been ten lead changes, which equals the total number for both races last year

Lap 200: Halfway in this race at Richmond International Raceway. Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick have dominated the first half of this race. At this point though it would still be hard to judge who is going to win

Lap 191: Jeff Gordon has moved himself back into second. Gordon has tended to have a log run car in the races this season, this portion of the races at Richmond are normally the longest green flag section

Lap 182: Brad Keselowski is starting to open a lead up over second placed Joey Logano who is his team mate at Penske Racing

Lap 177: Only two cars are out of the race, Clint Bowyer and Cole Whitt after their recent tire issues

Lap 174: Brad Keselowski goes back to the lead after a clean pass on Jeff Gordon

Lap 171: Green flag is back in the air after the fourth caution of the race. Jeff Gordon leads them to the line alongside Brad Keselowski

Lap 167: Pit road is open and the leaders come in for tires, fuel and some people get adjustments to their cars. Jeff Gordon wins the race off pit road and will restart as the leader

Lap 165: Pit road is covered in debris from the #15 and #26 cars. Track officials will have to do a clean up operation so that other drivers don't sustain damage when pitting soon

Lap 163: Clint Bowyer and Cole Whitt have big problems on the front right of their cars and both of them take their cars to the garage area on the track

Lap 161: Caution. Clint Bowyer has a tire issue, the second of this race for him. Cole Whitt also has a front right tire on fire on the track. There are chunks of burning rubber on the pit lane from the #26 car

Lap 158: Cole Whitt has a problem and struggles to bring his car to pit road. The green flag remains out, no caution for the #26

Lap 155: Jeff Gordon leads over Brad Keselowski by just under a second. They have a five second lead over Kevin Harvick who is in third place

Lap 150: Jeff Gordon has surpassed a career total of 1,500 laps led at Richmond International Raceway. Gordon is the most recent driver to dominate tonight

Lap 142: There are 30 cars on the led lap, with early strong driver Clint Bowyer two laps down in 38th place. Josh Wise is the 43rd place car and four laps down

Lap 137: Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick are the three drivers who have dominated the race of far, in terms of laps led and being near the front of the pack

Lap 130: Jeff Gordon continues to lead from Kevin Harvick by 0.80 of a second, with Kasey Kahne a further 0.40 back

Lap 120: Dale Earndhart Jr is slowly dropping back into the pack and it looks like the changes he made may have made his car worse than it was before the most recent caution

Lap 112: Close corners racing between Kasey Kahne and Martin Truex Jr as they get close and Truex Jr makes contact with the outside wall

Lap 107: Green flag back in the air at Richmond and Jeff Gordon leads them to the line alongside Kevin Harvick

Lap 101: Caution flag is out. Debris high on the track in turn three. Pit road is open and the leaders are in

Lap 100: One quarter through this race and the sun has just set, it is officially a night race ladies and gentlemen. Brad Keselowski has dominated so far

Lap 93: Kyle Larson is one of the strong contenders to take the win tonight, he has made his way upto 25th place after his early spin. Jeff Gordon has passed Kevin Harvick for second place and is trying to close on leader Brad Keselowski

Lap 90: Kurt Busch just declared over his team radio "We're done". Possible over exaggeration from the driver of the #41 car as he is currently 17th and not falling back too quickly

Lap 83: The lights are on and the sun is about to set on Richmond International Raceway. Brad Keselowski has a 1.3 second lead over Kevin Harvick

Lap 75: Brad Keselowski has just passed the 50 laps led mark in this race. He and a few other drivers look like they have really strong cars early on at Richmond

Lap 72: Great battles all over the track. One of the stand out things about short track racing, there is never a dull moment as the cars are always so close together

Lap 67: Brad Keselowski continues to lead and he along with Kevin Harvick are starting to pull away from the rest of the field

Lap 57: Pass for the lead. Brad Keselowski takes his #2 car on the inside of Kevin Harvick and makes the pass stick

Lap 50: Fity laps down already and the Stewart Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick holds a lead over Brad Keselowski

Lap 47: Green flag is back in the air and Kevin Harvick leads the field to the line

Lap 40: Competition caution is brought out and all drivers are on pit road for tires and a refill of fuel. Kevin Harvick is the leader after he managed to hold off Kasey Kahne. Danica Patrick is the costless pass car

Lap 31: Leader Kevin Harvick has started to catch the tail end of the field and traffic could become a problem and reduce his lead to second place Kasey Kahne

Lap 27: Team mates Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earndhart Jr are battling it out for 8th position. Rookie Kyle Larson has made his way up 12 spots since the restart after the caution

Lap 20: Kasey Kahne has moved himself up into the top five already and looks to have a very strong car early on

Lap 13: Traffic jam further back in the pack for 19th place as Ryan Truex Jr begins to fall back after starting in the top 10

Lap 9: Brad Keselowski leads from Clint Bowyer in the #15 car who is in a real hurry to get to the front

Restart: Green flag is back in the air for the second time after that early caution after contact between Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer

Caution: Kyle Larson has trouble getting onto pit road and collides with Landon Cassill which gives both cars some slight damage

Lap 1: Caution. Clint Bowyer makes it three wide into turn one and spins around rookie pole sitter Kyle Larson straight away. No give and take there

Here we go, cars coming to the green flag for the ninth race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Green flag in the air. Boogity Boogity Boogity, let's go racing at Richmond International Raceway!

Command to start engines has been given and the drivers, fans and every NASCAR fan is ready to get this late night, short track racing under way

Pre race ceremonies are under way for tonight's race. Not long to go until that green flag drops and rookie Kyle Larson, who is only 21 years old, gets to lead the field of 43 drivers to the Start/finish line

Good news for NFL fans in tonight's race as the Honorary Grand Marshall is Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III who will be leading the cars around the track on the pace laps before the race goes to green

A lot of talk about restarts in tonight's race. A number of races so far this year have been won on the final restart by the driver who takes advantage of a mistake by another driver on the track, such as Kevin Harvicks pass on Dale Earndhart Jr at Darlington a fortnight ago

Last years second place driver in the championship, Matt Kenseth, is another big name who is yet to win a race this season. Last season he won six races during the year and lost out to Jimmie Johnson. In a season where winning is everything, the big names need to use all of their skill to grab one before the Chase begins

There may be a chance of a battle on the track between Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch after their altercation in the race three weeks ago, will we see a replay of their tussle on the front stretch which caused Keselowski to finish outside of the top 40 and Busch go on to Victory Lane

Former champion Brad Keselowski will start on the front row of a race this season for the 6th time. That shows the power of the Penske Racing cars in qualifying this season so far

Richmond International Raceway has had 52 different pole sitters and 48 different winners in its history. It is the only three quarter mile track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule

Another rookie who had a great set of practice sessions was Ryan Truex Jr who will start in eigth position, the first time he has been inside the top ten for the start of the race in his short NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career

Track stats for tonight's race: The race will be 400 laps around this three quarter mile track, the fuel window in roughly 108 laps on a full tank of fuel, there will be a competition caution at lap 40 to check the tire wear because qualifying was postponed

Big names stars such as six time champion in the Sprint Cup Series Jimmie Johnson, along with Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon will be looking to get their first win of the 2014 campaign under the lights at Richmond tonight

Rookie Kyle Larson will start on the pole for tonight's race after qualifying was rained out yesterday. It makes Larson the ninth different pole sitter in nine races in the Sprint Cup Series
