Rocky Moran Jr, a replacement for Carlos Huertas this weekend at Long Beach, sustained a broken thumb in a crash during practice on Friday, sidelining himself for the remainder of the weekend. The replacement of Huertas' replacement: Conor Daly.

The young American driver will be making just his second ever Verizon IndyCar Series start (2013 Indianapolis 500 being his only other). He won the last time he visited the streets of Long Beach (Indy Lights 2013).

In the eyes of many fans of the series, Daly should have a full-time ride with a team, but that did not come together for 2015. This is massive news for the young driver and could perhaps lead to more drives in his near future - and could very well mean more viewers during the race on Sunday.

The green flag will fly at 4:30 pm ET on Sunday for the third race of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season and the second on a city/street circuit configuration.
