Qualifying for the second-to-last round of the 2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship took place on Friday afternoon. Here's a rundown of how the 15 minute sessions for each of the four classes played out and who will be starting where on Saturday at COTA.

Prototype

Scott Pruett claimed pole position for the Lone Star Le Mans race at the wheel of the No. 01 Ford EcoBoost Riley DP of Chip Ganassi Racing with a lap time of 1:58.441 - just enough to beat Oswaldo Negri of the Michael Shank Racing Ligier-Honda by a gap of just 0.071 seconds.

Behind the top two will start four Chevrolet Corvette DPs. Christian Fittipaldi qualified the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP third on the grid with a fastest lap that was 0.567 seconds slower than Pruett's pace. Jordan Taylor of Wayne Taylor Racing was fourth-fastest, ahead of Eric Curran in the No. 31 Action Express Corvette DP.

Micheal Valiante qualified the No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Racing Corvette DP in P6 but failed to complete the qualifying session after fuel pressure issues surfaced. Valiante drove the car through pit lane without stopping at one point during the session - then stopped the car trackside. He soon continued and brought the car back in that lap and would not continue.

Prototype Challenge

Chris Cumming claimed the PC category pole for RSR Racing, turning a 2:02.222 to top Matt McMurry of JDC/Miller Motorsports by 0.475 seconds.

The PC qualifying saw big gaps in the front; qualifying third in-class, James French of Performance Tech Motorsports, was already 1.364 seconds behind Cumming.

GT Le Mans

The battle for the GT Le Mans pole was very tight with the top four covered within 0.255 seconds.

Patrick Pilet claimed pole position for the No. 911 Porsche North America 911 RSR with a time of 2:04.396. Dirk Werner in the No. 25 BMW Team RLL car was second, just 0.094 seconds behind Pilet, whose teammate Earl Bamber qualified the No. 912 Porsche in third place, 0.229 seconds slower Pilet. The top four was completed by Antonio Garcia in the No. 3 Corvette Racing car, 0.255 seconds from polesitter Pilet.

GT Daytona

Dion von Moltke claimed an impressive pole position for Paul Miller Racing with a time of 2:11.097. Von Moltke, at the wheel of the No. 48 Audi R8 LMS, topped the defending-class-winning Riley Motorsports' Ben Keating by a dominant 0.561 seconds.

While von Moltke claimed a dominant pole, it was a lot tighter between the three drivers that followed. In qualifying P2 in-class, Keating beat Scuderia Corsa's Bill Sweedler by just 0.071 seconds and also Christina Nielsen of TRG-AMR whose best lap was only 0.103 seconds slower than that of Keating.
