Every week, the writers of the VAVEL NASCAR section choose who they think will win the upcoming race. After each race, the standings are determined upon the following points system:

Top 10 finish: Points inverse to position finished (1st place gets 10 points, 10th place gets 1 point)

Every 10 laps led: 1 point

Here are the picks for this weekend's Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway

Standings

Here are the current standings entering this weekend's race.

This week's picks

Stevie Larson

Driver: Jimmie Johnson

Reason: "Johnson leads all active drivers with three wins at Kansas, as well as the highest average finish. It's hard to go against him this weekend, and I think that he will take his Chevy to victory lane on Saturday night."

Mark Smith

Driver: Kevin Harvick

Reason: "The Stewart Haas Racing driver will have the speed to get to Victory Lane this week in the Blue Grass state in my opinion. Harvick has already booked his spot in this years Chase but I feel he will pick up another victory on Saturday night around this 1.5 mile oval, as long as he can overcome the very strong Joe Gibbs Racing quartet!"

Stephen Furst

Driver: Jimmie Johnson

Reason: "I have to go with Mr Mile-and-a-Half this week. Johnson has proven to be a dominating force on the 1.5 mile tracks. Jimmie also currently leads all active drivers with 3 wins and the highest average finish."

Brandon Farris

Driver: Jimmie Johnson

Reason: "He won in the spring last year. Him and Knaus will be looking to rebound after a horrible Talladega race. He's finished in the top 10 16 of his 19 races here including picking up 3 wins."
