ESTEBAN OCON IS THE WINNER OF THE HUNGARY GRAND PRIX 2021!

It will be the first victory for Esteban Ocon in the 2021 Formula 1 season.

Impressive race for Alpine.

Ocon remains in the first position and most likely will win the session.

Alonso remains fifth and will surely be the driver of the day.

Esteban Ocon is bravely holding on to first place, now more than two seconds ahead of Vettel.

The rest of the drivers have hard tires

Hamilton is under a second behind Tsunoda and attacks him, but the Alpha Tauri does not give in.

Verstappen evidently has the car damaged and begins to lose positions, now is placed penultimate.

Latifi pits and now third in the race is Carlos Sainz, who is +16.780 behind session leader Esteban Ocon.

VERSTAPPEN OVERTAKES HAMILTON THANKS TO PIT STOP AND IS NOW AHEAD OF THE BRITON

Verstappen makes a pit stop and switches from medium to hard.

RED BULL MAKES AN IMPRESSIVE STOP OF 2.3 SECONDS.

Hamilton comes into the pits and changes tires again. He changes to the hard tyres and it seems that he will go with them until the end.

Mazepin dropped out of the race, fifth driver to do so in the race

Vettel moves within DRS range and attacks Ocon

Verstappen overtakes Gasly and is now in ninth place

Hamilton continues to make progress, overtakes both Alfa Romeos

Vettel is more than a second behind Ocon, he has no DRS possibility.

 

Hamilton climbs positions from behind, now penultimate after overtaking Giovinazzi.

Now Hamilton comes out of the pits and is in last place.

Bad strategy by Mercedes. In the restart, all drivers came in to change tires except Hamilton.

Hungaroring is a rather narrow circuit where the current Formula 1 cars can easily exceed the track limits. The race stewards will pay special attention to the exits of turns 4, 11 and 12. The driver who exceeds these sections may be penalized both in qualifying and in the race.

This circuit had its official debut in Formula 1 during the 1986 World Championship. It has a distance of 4.381 kilometers and the race has a total of 70 laps. The holder of the fastest lap is Lewis Hamilton, with a time of 1: 16.627 achieved in 2020.
