Once again, thanks for tuning in to VAVEL USA's LIVE coverage of the 2014 MLS All Star Game.

Your 2014 MLS All Star Game MVP is Landon Donovan. This seems some vindication for Donovan, who many said should not have been selected for this game.

Thanks for joining us for our LIVE coverage of the 2014 MLS All Star Game and this famous 2-1 win for the MLS All Stars over Bayern Munich.

Apart from some ugly scenes at the end of the match, that was a terrific performance from the MLS All Stars. This is going to be a very famous win for MLS fans everywhere.

That is completely classless from the Bayern Manager

The entire Bayern Munich coaching staff are refusing to shake Caleb Porter's hand

Fulltime MLS All Stars 2 Bayern Munich 1

90+2' Boateng is booked

90+1' Goetze skies the costless kick high up into the Timbers Army. Nearly full time now...

90' Freekick for Bayern on the edge of the box. Guardiola and Starke are now both screaming at the fourth official

89' Schweinsteiger is down injured after a hefty challenge from Will Johnson, and Guardiola is angry and worried. Guardiola is really mad.

88' Mueller and Goetze with a wonderful one-two that ends with a Mueller shot from the edge of the box that is held by Hamid.

87' Dwyer strikes at the end of a counter attack and his shot is dragged just wide.

86' Substitution Bayern (Robben ON Alaba OFF)

85' MLS All Stars content to sit back and look for the counter through Dwyer and Valeri.

84' Timbers Army trying to roar on this MLS All Star Side to a famous win.

83' Bayern really throwing numbers forward in search of an equalizer.

82' Bayern handball called, costlesskick given

81' Green is one of the players who has left the pitch. We'll let you know who else has come off when we know.

80' Substitution Bayern (Schweinsteiger, Mueller, Goetze, Boateng and Lahm ON)

78' Corner MLS All Stars... Valeri takes and a Torres header is caught by Neuer who launches a break. Bernat fires a volley at Hamid that forces a terrific stop.

76' Hamid holds a stinging shot from Shaqiri, a player who has probably deserved a goal on the night.

75' Timbers Army making their presence known. Could we be heading for another famous win for the MLS All Stars?

74' Both sides trading possession after stringing a few passes together each.

73' Donovan substitution is because he has a game on Friday, no injury

72' Ridgewell with some terrific defending to concede a corner which Hamid eventually collects.

71' Substitution (Dwyer ON Donovan OFF)

70' GOAL MLS ALL STARS!!!! Landon Donovan chests down a great long ball from Diego Valeri and Donovan controls the ball before poking home.

68' Bayern are looking dangerous again. Green plays in a terrific cross that nearly picks out Bernat.

67' Bayern look to have been re-energized by that poor challenge for Alonso

66' Green makes a very good run but can't quite be picked out and Hamid collects

65' Alaba takes the costlesskick and forces Hamid to tip over for a corner which is cleared by Boswell

64' Yellow Card Osvaldo Alonso for a very poor challenge on the edge of his defensive area

58' MLS All Stars now looking to be playing more of a 3-5-2 formation

56' Edu and Wright-Phillips both nearly engineer something on the edge of the Bayern box but nothing comes of it

54' Wright-Phillips in again before he is whistled offside. Both sides have settled down and just looked to knock the ball around since the equalizer.

51' Bradley Wright-Phillips with a goal that would make his father proud! Ball flicked on from Torres and Wright-Phillips hits a screamer on the half-volley into the top corner of the net.

50' Bayern have just been content to control the game so far in the second half

48' The new MLS XI is: Hamid, Boswell, Franklin, Ridgewell,  Alonso, Johnson, Valeri, Edu, Donovan, Torres, Wright-Phillips

47' Substitution: Henry OFF Donovan On. Henry gets a wonderful reception as he comes off the pitch.

46' And we're back! Only Henry is still on the pitch from the MLS XI that started the match

We're about to get started here, and we'll bring you the wholesale changes that are coming as we confirm them.

Just saw a replay of Lewandowski's goal. It was a true Golazo, really a volley of the highest caliber. It also looks like Neuer will be one of several German World Cup stars who will enter the fray in the second half.

It will be a real shame if this is the last time that we see Thierry Henry in an MLS All Star Game. He really turned back the clock tonight.

Thanks for following VAVEL USA's coverage of the 2014 MLS All Star Game! We'll be back to bring you the second half as soon as it starts.

MLS All Star Manager Caleb Porter has said they will be putting out a new XI for the second half. It's a shame we will see no more of either Yedlin or Henry, who were both fantastic in the first half.

Halftime! Both sides had their moments going forward in the first half. The MLS All Stars gave a very good account of themselves, in particular Henry, Martins, and Yedlin. Both sides have had chances to score, but Bayern have certainly been good value for their lead.

45' MLS All Stars try and pass out of the back before conceding possession and Bayern now put a stranglehold on the game. After a nice period of MLS dominance, Bayern now look far the better side

44' Shaqiri now testing Rimando from distance and yet another terrific stop. How has this man never been MLS Goalkeeper of the Year?

43' Bradley with a dreadful give away and Green is in! He forces yet another great stop out of Nick Rimando

42' Yedlin takes the ball right off of Bernat's foot as he tried to sneak past him.

41' Green battles with Collin at the back and Collin is able to hack the ball away

40' Cahill leads a charge forward that culminates in an Henry shot just over. Looked to take a deflection, referee remains unmoved. Henry looks evergreen tonight

39' MLS All Stars just knocking the ball around, content to keep possession

38' (Substitution) Green has come on now far earlier than Pep Guardiola had said he would. Great save from Rimando! Shaqiri and Lewandowski play a great one-two that culminates with a Shaqiri snapshot that forces a remarkeable save from Rimando

37' Julian Green coming on now for Claudio Pizarro

36' Cahill is gripping his face as he took an elbow in an aerial duel

35' Henry hacked down and the costlesskick slows things down

34' Yedlin and Zusi combine very well but Zusi concedes possession in the Bayern box

33' Lewandowski with a header over from th ensuing corner. He later makes a great run through the defense which is stopped by a slide tackle from Yedlin

32' Rimando makes a terrific stop after Hojbjerg makes a great run

31' Lewandowski and Besler in a footrace but the offside flag comes up

30' Henry picks out a great ball over the top for Dempsey but his one-time shot is saved by StarkeDempsey's header from the ensuing corner is cleared.

29' More great interchange work between Martins and Dempsey

28' Yedlin, Martins and Henry continue to look great going forward. Since the Bayern goal, the MLS All Stars have certainly looked the better side.

27' Martins beats Alaba in a footrace but his touch lets him down and Bernat clears

26' Flowing move from the MLS All Stars ends with Yedlin fizzing a dangerous cross in but no one is able to make contact

25' Michael Bradley seems to be relishing his role as the one to try and slow down Bayern's passing

24' Lewandowski continues to be very active. Another cross goes out for a goalkick

23' Lewandowski puts in a cross which is cleared for a corner by Parkhurst. Corner is cleared and the MLS come forward dangerously before Dempsey gives the ball away while trying a little pirouette

22' Henry and Martins are both looking great when coming forward

21' Now the ball is given away really poorly by Zusi and Bayern soon waste.

20' Dangerous ball in from Bernat is cleared by Parkhurst. Searching ball towards Lewandowski is cleared by Rimando

19' Bayern just knocking it around

18' Zusi nearly connects with another great ball from Henry. When the MLS come forward and play high balls in the Bayern defense look at sixes and sevens

17' Fantastic ball in from Thierry Henry towards Martins but the ball is just out of reach. He should have gone with his head not his foot

16' Hojbjerg with great work down the right wing and puts in a ball to Rode but his diving header flashes wide

15' Shaqiri looked to have been hacked down by Tim Cahill but the referee isn't moved

14' Bayern corner is cleared after some head tennis in the box

13' Tiki-taka from Bayern and every time they come forward the MLS defense looks fragile

12' MLS All Stars content to just try and slow down the tempo after Bayern nearly scored their second

11' Another dangerous attack from Bayern. Shaqiri with a great run and a slide rule pass into Pizarro but his shot is blocked

10' Bayern controlling the ball as they knock it around, slowing down the tempo after the goal

8' Lewandowski scores! Great strike on the half-volley and Rimando can do nothing. Great goal.

8' Great save from Rimando! Great ball into Lewandowski from Gaudino and the Polish no. 9 shoots but a great stop from Rimando

7' Rode down after a hard challenge with Tim Cahill

6' Through six minutes, the MLS outfit have looked more dangerous

5' Yedlin with a terrific run and dangerous ball in that is cleared by Martinez

4' Decent looking ball in from Martins towards Dempsey but easily cut out

3' And Dempsey has the ball in the back of the net but it's chalked off due to him being eight yards offside

2' Bayern with all the ball early on. MLS All Stars don't get a touch until nearly a minute gone

1' And we're off!

7:00 P.M. EST: Once again, welcome to VAVEL's LIVE coverage of the 2014 MLS All Star Game.

6:48 P.M. EST: For Bayern, the big thing for American fans to look for is how young USMNT forward Julian Green performs. Bayern manager Pep Guardiola has said he will play a little more than 15 minutes.

6:47 P.M. EST: For the MLS All Stars, the most important thing to look for is how the league's superstars work together having had only a few days of practice with each other.

6:46 P.M. EST: "I think this year I'm realizing more than ever how important this [game] is. There's tangible energy around this place and that's really cool. We haven't always had that. Last year was the same in Kansas City... Now this is a game that guys really enjoy coming to. We enjoy being a part of. When you have the opportunity to promote our game and our league, we want to do it,” said Donovan.

6:45 P.M. EST: Let's see what Landon Donovan had to say yesterday to The Oregonian.

6:44 P.M. EST: Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has said that USMNT forward Julian Green will play more than 15 minutes. "He's going to play a little bit more [than 15 minutes]. For the fans, for the girls. He's going to play even more [than 15 minutes], yeah."

6:43 P.M. EST: Next up, Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola, speaking on USMNT forward and Bayern Munich starlet Julian Green.

6:42 P.M. EST: “It’s a celebration of these players, their careers. Hopefully we can make it a competitive game and try to make it exciting with a lot of good attacking players, and we’re going to attack and make it an exciting game," said MLS All Star head coach Caleb Porter, looking ahead to Wednesday's game.

6:41 P.M. EST: And now, let's look and see what the two coaches have had to say. First, from MLS All Star head coach Caleb Porter.

6:40 P.M. EST: Although these four occasions were all notable, they didn't hold a candle to the most famous MLS All Star Game. In 2012, PPL Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was the sight of a 3-2 victory for the MLS All Stars over then reigning UEFA Champions League champions Chelsea. It was a game that went back and forth, the MLS All Stars trailed by two goals with less than twenty minutes remaining. A goal from D.C. United forward Chris Pontius in the 73rd minute left it all to play for, before then Seattle Sounders striker Eddie Johnson scored on a deflected strike in the first minute of stoppage time for the MLS All Stars to win 3-2.

6:39 P.M. EST: In 2006, Toyota Park in ChicagoIllinois played host to a famous victory for the MLS All Stars. They played host to then reigning English Premier League champions Chelsea, and when Chelsea named a nearly first-choice XI which included names such as Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Michael Ballack, and Michael Essien, it would prove to be no easy task. However, through a terrific defensive display and a wonder goal from then Houston Dynamo striker Dwayne de Rosario, the MLS All Stars were able to earn a famous 1-0 win over Chelsea.

6:38 P.M. EST: The 2005 MLS All Star Game was fittingly played at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. It marked not just the first time that an MLS All Star side would take on European opposition, but also served as a wonderful homecoming for Columbus Crew legend Brian McBride. However, on the day it was not McBride who would play the starring role. No, it was fellow USMNT striker Taylor Twellman who opened the scoring along with notching MVP honors as the MLS All Stars beat Fulham 4-1. The 2005 season was probably Twellman's finest in MLS, as he notched 17 goals for the New England Revolution en route to winning both MLS Golden Boot and MLS MVP honors.

6:37 P.M. EST: The 2002 MLS All Star Game was played at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C., and due to the popularity of the USMNT coming back from their run to the quarter-finals at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, which was co-hosted by South Korea and Japan. So, owing to the popularity of the USMNT, they played the MLS All Stars. A selection of USMNT players took on an MLS All Star side comprised of players who either were not American or were not selected to represent the USA in that game. It was a move that seemed counter-productive as MLS wanted to maximize it's popularity but had some of their best and most recognizable players playing against them in this game.
