Taylor, 25, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture with lateral collateral ligament (LCL) damage in the 35th minute of the Club’s match against the Portland Timbers on Sunday evening at Yankee Stadium.
“It’s always very disappointing when you see a player suffer a serious injury,” New York City FC head coach Jason Kreis said. “Tony is a great young professional and I know his teammates are going to miss him on the field. Taylor will undergo surgery later this week. The timeframe of his return will be determined following the operation.
