It wasn't a B team that Tottenham put out on the field tonight. The starting XI that Spurs put out had the likes of Dier, Chadli, Dembele, Eriksen, Vertonghen, and Harry Kane. All are quality players in the BPL. Even the likes of Trippier and DeAndre Yedlin made appearances in 2nd half but they were beaten by an MLS team that came out with something to prove.

They were a group of All-Stars, the likes of Kaka, David Villa and Clint Dempsey all seemed to show a little more pace in their step when facing the BPL side. It may have caught Spurs off guard and it showed in the opening half when the MLS got the first two goals of the game. David Villa and Kaka scored both of the MLS's goals tonight and showed they still have something left in the tank. But this game showed how Spurs still have to make adjustments if they want to push for the top four in the BPL.

They need a good backup striker or one that can play next to Harry Kane. Roberto Soldado has not shown any promise that he can be a solid backup. Spurs have been linked to Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and bringing the Manchester United striker over to White Hart Lane would be a good signing as he can be a super sub backup when he is on his game (shown at Real Madrid and for most of his United career).

Harry Kane is a superb player but he will need help from time to time and the likes of Erik Lamela will have to help out. They didn't buy all those players with the money they got from selling Bale to sit there and do nothing.

Spurs didn't have their full starting XI out there and it is acceptable that they lost to a group of All Stars from the MLS. But Tottenham have shown that they still got some ways to go if they want to contend for a Champions League spot in the Barclays Premier League.
